I think i over eat

Postby undia » Tue Aug 16, 2016 1:08 pm

Let me just say I am in no way overweight or underweight. But I fell as though I eat my feelings. It started at some point during high school (I'm in my last year now) I get home from school (about 3pm) and I go to the kitchen looking for things I can eat. Like its really gross and I always fell too full after dinner. I just cant seem to stop. I threw up like twice because i felt so bloated, but I'm no bulimic. My friends worry about me saying that i never eat even though i do just not in front of them (I have told them that i eat during class but they don't believe me). And my parents think I'm disgusting for the amount i eat while they are at work or they think i don't eat enough when they don't catch me. If there is no food in the house i go out and buy things. I think the last time i did it i ate two large bars of chocolate and half a pack of jafacakes, i feel so grossed out jus talking about it. Oh and i should mention that i have mentioned dieting but my mother hates the idea and wont let me. I know i am a pretty good weight but i just feel so fat all the time, like i look at my self and go eww but i don't do anything about it

It sounds like you are using eating as a coping mechanism. Sugar releases feel good chemicals. You don't eat chocolate because you are hungry, you eat chocolate to cope. Find other ways to cope. When you get home from school go exercise. Exercise will also release feel good chemicals.

If you've tried self hypnosis therapies, but haven’t work for you its probably because they didn’t contain certain hypnosis instructions that match your specific personality - emotional health.

Constructive advice:

Dont go into a community and violate the rules. There is a reason you cant post links yet.

I used to and sometimes still feel the same way. We tend to use food as a way to cope with stress or distract ourselves. It can be a very tough thing to overcome

I don't think workout is the solution to the problem here, the problem is either an absence of things that release pleasure hormones in the body, or an addiction to them that has to be fed in any possible way.
If the problem is the former, then, it could be worth trying to find something you like, like spending more time with a friend, finding a sport you like to do.... Or, I mean, even finding a great video game would do the trick.
By the way, games could be an ersatz solution if the problem is the latter option. If you stop eating frantically altogether, you'll experience endorphin withdrawal. Games or sports could be the "transition product" that you'd consume to feed your need for endorphine, and gradually reduce back to normal levels over time.
