Re: Living and the future

I think that, unless you're really born from a poor family and then you'll pretty much have to work hard all of your life - because "working hard makes you rich" isn't necessarily true, go find a rich coal miner or firefighter - you can always manage to escape the "daily grind" f...

Re: Internet bullying causing depression

I sadly don't see Facebook doing much to protect anyone from bullying, their support service is more or less just about censoring every twentieth violent picture posted to the site (with the rest going through without a problem). Dies that bullying have an impact on your real life relationships? Fri...

Re: Walking

If you're tired of walking, have you tried building up your upper body strength so that you can dive into the ground and swim through it like through water?

Re: Routine

Speaking of feelings of inadequacy, it could be worth trying to create something, something you could be proud of. It could be writing a short story or a poem. Drawing something. I mean, it could even simply be looking a cool recipe online and cooking it! Having things you can be proud of, your own ...

Re: junk food binge cycles

Still, even if the guy is a troll, it would probably be worth it to offer solutions, should someone who actually ahs that problem stumble upon that thread in the future.

Re: I think i over eat

I don't think workout is the solution to the problem here, the problem is either an absence of things that release pleasure hormones in the body, or an addiction to them that has to be fed in any possible way. If the problem is the former, then, it could be worth trying to find something you like, l...

Re: How to support someone struggling with depression

Yes, supporting someone with depression can be pretty hard and demanding, but if that person loves you, abandoning them would really deal a severe blow to them; if you don't love them anymore, it's okay to leave, but if you still have feelings for that person, it would be worth sticking with them th...

Re: Am I infected

If you want to make sure the stuff you've brought from the outside is safe, spray it with alcohol (70 or 90 degree medical alcohol, not cheap whisky), let it rest for 2-3 minutes or so, and you'll be good to go.

Re: I don't really want or desire anything

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal not to feel any interest towards the "cliché" Western middle class ideals inherited from the 50s. Not everyone will accomplish themselves by having a big suburban home with a swimming pool and an expensive car. The option to join the Red Cross - or any fi...

Re: Asperger Research

That's pretty fascinating to see the evolution of these terms as well! And yes, modern day Russia already has quite a lot (around 160, if I'm mistaken) of ethnic groups, and the USSR had even more of them!
And I'll be looking for her papers in Russian then, it does look fascinating.

Re: Religious trauma (kinda?)

Yes, that's definitely the latter. Just look at the first of the Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not kill.
How many wars were started for the sake of Christianism (or Judaism and Islam, which share the Ten Commandments)?

Re: Therapist dodging almost everything I throw at him.

Yes, it looks like it's time to find another one. Unfortunately enough, therapists aren't like "physical" doctors, you can't get feedback on how successful they are, and sometimes end up into the hands of someone incompetent, malevolent, or just misoriented; it can even just be that they d...

Re: Do i have to tell my parents every mistake I made?

Yes, it does sound like you're not the "head" of your own life, and still entrust that role to your parents. I know it can be difficult to let go,because being your own leader is scary, stressful and demanding, but the positives outnumber the negatives. For example, this wouldn't be bother...

Re: I end up breaking things...

Yes, I sometimes get angry and feel like fulminating and swearing just makes me angrier, as if that anger was a muscle being exercised... Now that you're saying it, I should try and just stop and take a deep breath when something is not going my way.
