Can you recovery from PAWS whilst taking an antidepressant

Postby 1yearPAWS » Thu Dec 02, 2021 11:08 pm

I've been suffering from severe PAWS for a long time now and I'm sick and tired of it. If I took an antidepressant would that completely ruin my PAWS recovery? If someone has recovered from PAWS whilst taking an antidepressant please tell me!

Hey man sorry to hear that you’re still suffering. I would strongly suggest not taking anti depressants with PAWs though. It might bring some temporary relief but you’ll likely have to face PAWs again when coming off the antidepressants. There’s also a thing called the kindling effect where every time going through paws is worst than the time before. So I wouldn’t risk it. You’re more than a year into this battle don’t make yourself start over again at a later date. Keep pushing on so you can put this nightmare behind you for good. It seems that between year 2 and 3 is when severe cases tend to recover so your like halfway there. Plus this second half won’t be nearly as bad as the first. Stay strong and know that this won’t last forever.

Personally I think it's a bad idea, just google antidepressant discontinuation syndrome, It's probably way worse than PAWS. That beeing said I've also seen a post where someone used them and it helped them through PAWS. Either way the most important thing is that you don't relapse again. Im 14 months in now, and this last month I've seen the most progress by far, things take time, just be patient and you will heal.

Pot is a depressant.

People experiencing depression sometimes try to use pot to deal with depression, but given chemically pot is a depressant, not a stimulant, it tends to be counterproductive.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm going to give it a miss, last thing I want it a second PAWS, especially if it is worse than this time.
