13 Month Breakdown

Hi everyone, I am now at 13 months and had been feeling relatively good for the last couple of months. All of a sudden a few days ago I was hit with one of the most intense panic attacks I’ve ever had. I was on the floor shaking for hours. Nothing triggered it I was just having a normal day and was ...

Re: 13 Months in, what a ride.

Nice job on the 13 months! I’m about a week away from 13 months and my experience has been very similar to yours. At about 11 months i started having periods of feeling like my old self again. It’s very encouraging and I truly believe that we will heal from this. The common theme I see from people p...

Re: Thoughts and observations on PAWS

Hey man congratulations! You should be really proud. That’s awesome that you were able to recover fully. I’ve felt confident that it will get better but I was unsure if I could ever get to 100%. Kind of like a bad injury where it heals but it’s never 100% again. Do you feel 100% recovered like you n...

Re: When did the derealization/ dissociation go away for you

Hi Jessica I would encourage you try not to focus on the timeline of this thing. Just know that it gets better eventually. I was in the exact same shoes as you at 6 months. I had nonstop dissociation/derealization. I thought my mind was permanently broken. I couldn’t function at all and the thought ...

Re: 1 year PAWS - It's been a year since I quit

Hey man sorry that you’re still struggling. I think it should be encouraging that you said you had a whole month almost completely PAWs free. That would indicate to me that you’re healing. Plus you said that it had been four months since you had a panic attack. That sounds like good progress to me. ...

Re: Recovery stories

I’m at 11 months and I’m definitely not recovered but things are so much better than they were at 6 months. At 6 months I could barely leave my bed due to fatigue and anxiety. I had horrible intrusive thoughts everyday and I’m honestly surprised I made it through without killing myself or relapsing....

Re: Dissociation or high feeling from weed paws

I was in the same place at 5 months. Don’t worry it will get better. For me it stopped being constant at around month 7 and then it came back for month 8. But now it’s mostly gone. Some days it hits me hard again but most of the time it’s pretty manageable. Like today it’s hitting me hard(hence the ...

Re: Can you recovery from PAWS whilst taking an antidepressa

Hey man sorry to hear that you’re still suffering. I would strongly suggest not taking anti depressants with PAWs though. It might bring some temporary relief but you’ll likely have to face PAWs again when coming off the antidepressants. There’s also a thing called the kindling effect where every ti...

Re: 7.5 months now

@winzu
@9mQ

How are you guys feeling now? My PAWs seems to have followed a similar timeline to both of yours so I have found your posts really helpful and encouraging. I hope things are continuing to get better for you both.

Struggling to connect with people

Hi everyone. I find the most difficult part of PAWs is my struggle to connect to other people. I am essentially a social outcast now. I sense that I make others very uncomfortable when trying to converse with them. This was never an issue for me in the past. I was always confident and popular before...

Re: Hope This Helps

Thanks for the update and congrats on your recovery! It's always really encouraging to hear from people who have made it to the other side. I have a few questions for you. Did you ever feel like you looked really crazy. Like my eyes look crazy kind of like Gary Buseys (not as bad though haha). It's ...

Re: TMJ

Yes I've had bad TMJ and bruxism while dealing with PAWs. Don't worry it definitely gets better over time. The clenching seems to come and go with the PAWs waves. I still have periods where I clench my teeth but the TMJ is completely gone. I suspect that the clenching will stop for me completely onc...

Re: Is there light at the end of the tunnel? - Weed PAWS

Just want to say great job taking the leap and quitting. I've heard the same story from a lot people who have PAWs. Everything was great until one day out of nowhere they get paranoid thoughts and things are never the same again with weed. So you definitely made the right choice quitting as soon as ...

Re: 7.5 months now

Hey man thanks for sharing your story. I'm at almost 9 months and am still having a difficult time. It's encouraging to know that these next few months might be a turning point for me. But yeah I agree that this suffering is turning me into a compassionate person as well. I always viewed people with...
