You can buy it direct from www.headhacking.com or www.anthonyjacquin.com . Other shops stock it too, including amazon.co.uk. If you buy it from us and ask nicely then Ant will sign it for you. :)

I never really thought of magnetic fingers as an induction until I experienced it working spontaneously as one. I had always used it as an interesting phenomenon when talking about or explaining hypnosis. Then two experiences made me realise that it really can be more than that.
A friend of mine just locked up like a broken computer at the end of the routine. He had clearly gone into trance, but I brought him out immediately, having previously promised not to put him into trance.
The second was in another bar with a stranger who had just seen me do some mind reading stunts. While he was concentrating on the space between his fingers, I briefly turned to get the attention of a friend. My attention was quickly drawn back to my subject as his face hit the floor just in front of my feet. That one taught me a valuable lesson about attentiveness, and cost me a punch in the jaw (which kind of anchored my learning!)
The point is that, under the right circumstances, this can be a very powerful technique, but it really has very little to do with the exact words we use or the precise order of events. It is about drawing someone's attention and guiding their experience. Observing the person (and catching them!!) is far more important than getting the words and the moves right.

As Kev says, have look at Reality is Plastic.

This is one of the free bits I give away when people sign up for my newsletter but I can't post a link to the site yet so I thought I'd share it with you lot anyway!

The Pelvic Thrust Induction

Introduction

I don't remember how this came about although I was almost certainly drunk when I thought of it. All I know is that the idea caught!

The Induction

Get the person to be hypnotised to stare at a point on your crotch. You then slowly move your hips forward and back as you tell them that they start to relax. After a few thrusts or when the volunteer starts to really relax you perform a full pelvic thrust with the accompanying hand motion (fists clenched tight are swung backwards together in a similar motion to that you use when you run but at the same time) and shout sleep. The volunteer drops into a nice deep hypnotic state.

Comments

The hardest bit of this induction is keeping a straight face. I'd suggest using it as a reinduction rather than an initial induction as it's hard to maintain credibility unless they've already seen what you can do!

The whole point of the Pelvic Thrust Induction is to make the induction a funny part of the performance and also to take the piss out of the long stair metaphor inductions some people favour.

It also shows that just about anything can be an induction!

This genuinely did leave both Amit Badiani and James Brown speechless, though only because they were laughing so hard!

Sharing

This induction was given out free to members of my newsletter. If you have this and aren't a member please sign up at URL for other slightly more serious ideas on
hypnosis.

If you are signed up then please pass this on to your mates and get them to sign up on the site. If they book a Skype call and mention your name when they do I buy you a drink whenever we meet!

No it is not necessary, just offer your hand.

However I find the handshake can be given context if you have already done some kind of exercise like magnetic hands as you can then say 'well done' or 'thanks' and offer your hand.

If you want to someone say something confusing then 'Can I borrow your hand?' said as you extend your hand will do it.

I wouldnt say there is a best, theres only a best for a situation
anything can be an instant induction almost anything that overloads there creativity and puts them into a sugestable state making the probability of suggestions going up. this is as easy as

In what situation ??
one of the commonly best
-hand shake induction
-i like the elmin induction not so instant though

look up zap by hon wong it is a really good shock induction and its good because it basicly gives you no choice but to accept whats going on but im more of a conversationalst then husing people around

I would argue that is just dangerous. Completely unnecessary use of force.

Hello to all that are in the forums. I am a man who has recently been discovering the world of hypnosis. I love to read about the mind and it's wonderful abilities. From all that reading, it only made sense that I would look into hypnosis. I have yet to perform a hypnotic session, although I am starting to feel more confidence in my understanding of the subject.

I have a wife that says she can't be hypnotised and she doesn't want to be hypnotised. But I have five kids also, and they are 9-6 in ages. I think that would be something cool that they would enjoy and get a lot of benefit out of.

As far as the hypnosis portion is concerned, I read the suggestion sticky and I love reading all the insight that you all have. I have been fascinated with the mind ever since I can remember and I have done countless hours of reading and learning. I have a mildly photographic memory, although I know that is not something that is believed by all. I have the ability to read a page and then for some reason, dependant on what I am reading, I can literally picture the page and almost read word for word what is on the page. I know that in itself is a form of "super concentration" and it is something that I used to get me through school.

My question to you all is that given my desire to learn this hypnosis aspect of the mind, what do I have to do in order to get myself in a position to use my hypnosis abilities that I learn to help people? I want to be a hypnotherapist, but I am not sure of the path I need to take to get there.

Thank you all for your time in reading my rambling and in advance for your comments.

Hi Balddad,

If I've understood your question, I'd say the first thing you need to do is also the second, third, fourth... thing.

PRACTICE

I - or loads of people here - could recommend any number of great books. But that doesn't match the benefit of actually getting out there and doing it. If I can be so bold as to suggest what/how to practice, I'd go for something like:

1) Inductions

Just master a few. Maybe Elman, My friend John, PMR and the Bandler Handshake. This is great because it builds your confidence and teaches a fair bit about the principles of hypnosis.

2) NLP(ish) techniques

E.g. Swish, Fast Phobia Cure, etc.

3) Language Patterns

E.g. Ericksonian stuff

That would give you a great grounding and they are the kind of things that it should be fairly easy to get practice in.

Alongside practice, I'd recommend some live training. Names to look out for are Anthony Jacquin, Jonathan Chase and Stephen Brooks. Adam Eason is also said to be very good, but I'm not sure if he does any shorter courses and I don't know as much about him.

Thank you for the input divrom. I appreciate everything I learn and learning from people that have done this, is one of the best educators. I am still attempting to do my first induction, not sure if it's the confidence or the lack of finding someone that would be willing to participate.

I am in the market looking for books to rid me of my lack of knowledge of this source, so any good quality books that you can advise, or anyone else for that matter, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am in Indiana, and if you don't have the knowledge of what my state requires, you can be charged with a misedemeanor for claiming to be a hypnotist. The only way around that is to "entertain". But the problem I am having is my desire to be a hypnotherapist. The caveat there is that you must have 500 hours of classroom study and then pass a "board certification" offered by the state.

We do really have some astounding laws out there, and i think this just shows peoples lack of understanding the hypnosis concept and the benefit of said profession.

I've been having trouble getting my brother and father into a hypnotic trance and I can't tell if they're resisting me or if it's just because of our relationship that it isn't working. Does anyone have any ideas, thoughts, or particularly effective instant inductions to try?

How do you hypnotize someone by breathing in or out?
