I’ve gone through similar issues multiple times. I’ve had people slander me, threaten me and accuse me of all sorts of things.
Over time I learned what works and what doesn’t. My most recent strategy is the best and has yet to fail. I ignore them. I do nothing. Or, if I wish to stand on principle, I simply repeat my message periodically.
My thought process is pretty simple. My friends, family, and colleagues know who I am and what I stand for. Slander me all you wish, it isn’t going to change how those closest to me feel about me. In fact, being under attack it galvanizes those close to me, it strengthens those relationships. If it does influence some people to turn away from me, no problem. What do I care? These people were fringe acquaintances at best.
And that is the question I have for you. Why do you care? It’s FaceBook. These “friends” are not actually your friends. Block them. Delete them. Ignore them. Move on with life.
