15 months PAWS

Postby Eroica » Sat Aug 22, 2020 5:01 am

Been off pot since May 2019 and still feeling some lingering PAWS. A lot of anger, obsessive thoughts, low libido, constipation and low motivation. Also occassional depression. I also get massive cravings when somebody walks/drives by on the street smelling like pot. Im eating right, exercising, being busy but still I dont feel right. Im going to give it another year but I really hope by the end of next year PAWS will be over or is that asking for too much?

Hi...thanks for the reply...17 months now and still not feeling normal but my libido has improved. Still miss smoking and the relief it brings. Still suffering from constipation, anxiety, and lack of motivation.

Just keep going. I'm with you. Sounds like you are doing things right. TheGreatDane wrote a great recent post. It took him over 30 months but is now good.

Lingering is a good word. I'm at 14 months, and it's just like it's always there in hanging on to me. Like I'm close to normal but I can't shake the last of it off. I think it'll work out in time.

All this is issues with self esteem and self confidence, these things will get better over time and with practice.

I feel 90% back to normal after more than two years off weed. No more depression or anxiety. Slight ED and slightly unmotivated but thats about it. Sometimes i cant concentrate either. But other than that, I feel fine now.

Thats fantastic to hear you're much better, really inspiring and give us all hope of one day being back to some kind of normality. Did you try cbd in your recovery at all? I had a couple of puffs on a vape about 10 days ago with high quality and strength cbd and now feel scared ive undone my hard work getting to 11 months as im going through a really heavy wave since Friday.

No i didnt use CBD because Im scared it would trigger cravings for weed. But if it works for you and helps keep you off weed, thats great. Good luck.

Power- I used a very high quality CBD oil a few times in May for anxiety and pain (which is what I used medical marijuana for) and then I had an AWFUL wave of paws that lasted almost the entire month of June. I felt the CBD triggered it, but it is very possible that I would have had that wave without using the CBD. But, after that experience, I won’t use any more CBD oil. I definitely think it’s possible your cbd vape affected you, but, of course, we never know for sure.

Hi thanks for asking. I gave an update a few weeks ago in this thread. Basically I have no depression or anxiety now nor do I have any physical symptoms. Rarely do I feel anger or any obsessive thoughts. The improvement from 15 to 27 months was massive in my case. But i still have slight ED and trouble concentrating and some motivation problems. But even those symptoms have improved a lot since 15 months. Unfortunately I still do crave pot sometimes. I dont know if that will ever go away considering I smoked so long.

Yeah i think it did trigger it too tbh. ill never use it again. Having a real hard time with really heavy depression. tbh im feeling suicidal again which i hadn't done for some time. Just feel so hopeless and struggling to keep my faith i will get well again. I keep telling myself i will but feeling like I do now its hard to crawl out of this dark place.
Ive got to keep going for my son, my wife and family and be strong. Huge respect to everyone going through PAWS, its a crawl through hell itself. I just hope i can make it to the other side

What is interesting to me is I had a small wave hit and thought I'd get some straight CBD. Smoked it for a week straight and felt ok then got hit hard by a wave of PAWs. Headach, depression and nausea. I am not a scientist so can't say one cause the other but it is an interesting correlation.
