PAWS at 10 months

Postby Zarathustra » Sat Aug 21, 2021 9:11 pm

Hello guys, I currently in a depressive wave and I would like some input from those who have overcome PAWS. What surprises me is that I have felt real good for about 20 days last month (month 9 clean), almost made me think I was out of the woods, and then it got bad again and its making me wonder if this cycle ever ends. If anybody has advice, I would like to hear it.

Sorry to hear about your struggle. I don't mean to dishearten you but you should be careful about hoping to beat paws just now. It's not just because of the waves but also because it can totally frustrate your journey to recovery. Anyway, congrats on the 10 months, keep it up!

Thanks for your advice, I don't really expect to beat it soon, but I do expect to beat it someday. Im just disheartened because I'm not feeling as great as I had hoped by now. In my case, as time went on, the waves reduce in intensity (both good and bad) but become longer. Has it been the same for you or anyone you know of?

@Zarathustra
I started with 1 month zero symptoms. Then with no transition 24/7 disaster for a few months. Then once a while there was a slightly better day. My wave phase started perhaps around month 5-6, I can't remember exactly, experience-wise the first year is a blur of suffering. The waves came and went for about half a year. They trended more and more merciful but essentially they were deceptive, appearing unprovoked and with zero warning, at times more aggressively than expected. I think you're going through this phase and in fact I did experience your disillusionment when a bad tide was high. You can expect a breakthrough at the one-year mark. I hope this is some consolation. Paws sucks, just don't lose heart!

Thank you friend. In related notes, what are your thoughts on drinking occasionally during weed PAWS?

Reportedly, alcohol is a likely paws trigger. I personally don't drink much alcohol. But when I did in my first year it had no adverse effects... luckily :)
