Do antidepressants cause permanent brain damage?

Postby MattMVS7 » Mon Aug 25, 2014 1:21 am

I am afraid of taking the antidepressants I'm on now and wish to get off of them because I heard that cause brain damage. Many people think that they instead grow new brain cells and such. But here in this article, he says that this is flawed evidence. Also, there are reports of people who have had their lives destroyed by antidepressants who have had permanent anhedonia and many other things as well from these medications.

Here is the article that talks about antidepressants causing brain damage:

If you want to know more about these drugs I recommend you to read a pharmacy chemistry book: psychomedicaments it has all: anti deppresants and others:

There could be something bad about these drugs: like side effects and stuff is just that not as bad as people make them look like, i mean you can see what negative statements made about caffeine, i think negative statements about caffeine are too much,

When i become extreme anxious i use diazepam sometimes: i know it does have side effects, it makes you feel dizzy and others, but hey i think that is much better than anxiety itself:

So do not take other peoples statements too much serious no matter how much professional it sounds, neither me, you decide for yourself if it is worth to use these drugs, are they doing good or bad, you can read pharmacy books,

I also recommend you to trust yourself:

If you believe " there is something wrong with me, my brain " the belief itself is more powerful than a drug, it just keeps bringing these negative feelings:

but if you trust yourself, if you be like: i am going to have some good times today, its going to be relaxing loving or exciting:

This can make you feel much more better, " what you focus on, what you believe " can do magic, is the best drug with no side effects that you can give yourself...

It's more positive to focus on the mental health that we do have and let go of the past, it is only a memory, this is how we can be easier on ourselves

Reading you made me remember how my ex GF broke with me after an 8 years relations after she began taking prozac... it changed her at that point that I didnĀ“t recognize her as herself anymore. Read about a famous woman that works at Cornell University, her name is helen Fisher and you can see and ear a lot of his conferences at youtube. Good luck

You can of course talk with a physician. But if you are so worried about taking drugs, have you explored any other options? Like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? Or even just counseling?
