Say something extremely nice....About yourself!

Postby Annabell » Thu Jun 30, 2005 6:48 am

Here's your place to say something extremely nice about yourself! Time for some self-praise!
I would like to hear things that you actually seriously think about yourself, things you don't normally announce anywhere because people 'are not supposed to think too much of themselves'
But hey, this is a cheap way of gaining some self-confidence. So let's all boost our egos a bit.

I'll start....

I think my hair is really nice now when it's grown a bit longer!

well............

People say my smile is lovely, and I like my legs

It feels weird saying stuff about yourself. It feels a bit forbidden!

Yes, and a nice warm smile is really all it takes to make a person look really beautiful! Plus you can get far with good legs

I come from a culture in which saying anythng positive about yourself is even more forbidden than here, it sometimes seems. We have proverbs that claim that only ugly people wear pretty clothes! Meaning that if you are into nice clothes it is because you need to add something to your appearance to make it attractive!! Now of course that is an old proverb but still, what a stupid thing to say!

really? am interested to know which culture you come from now....
that seems awfully harsh doesn't it? Most people like to make themselves look nice, or at least the best they can. I know i do. Going out looking like a rat bag makes me feel self-conscious all day.

I'm from Finland. I think it is a proverb from my grandma's times, of course Finnish people pay as much attention to grooming as anybody else
But those sorts of sayings can sometimes work on an unconscious level too I think.

Oh you mean top-heavy, tall and blonde??

Well I have mousy hair, am short and not so 'top-heavy' but in other words that is 'light brown hair and petite' - and yes, drop-dead gorgeous!!

I am waiting for some guys to come and post something about themselves now! I would actually love to hear a guy say something positive about their looks!

I think the best part about me would have to be... being me.

In all seriousness though, I don't really consider any part of me particularly great. But I'm happy how I am so I don't care.

I worked with a client last year who had really problems esteeming himself because he said in the eyes of his church it was seen as vanity. i totally disagree. i spent thrity years feeling bad about myself, not anymore. so here goes.

I am a very warm,caring person.

The sting in the tail is that there will always be things i don't like about myself, like i'm slightly overweight, but that's just a very small part of who i am.

I'm more than slightly overweight, so that's a bigger chunk of who I am and what I don't like. But I have a lot of empathy and people seem to like telling me things about themselves. I've found that so much of what seems nastiness in people is caused by their pain and fear.

Ive been told I have nice legs but she left so they cant be that good.
As for what I think is good about me, i thought being honest, decent, kind, very dedicated and loving were good qualities, but my ex just thought i was clingy, so maybe not.
I am quite a good cook, thats it im afraid...
