Men are from Mars...

Is it possible to sum up a man and woman's behaviour after a relationship breakdown? Women want to talk and find out what happened and solve things or have closure, but in my experience men retreat and put up a wall of silence. I am trying to understand my husband (tough one!) since we separated in ...

Break ups are like beravements. They have a mourning period and some take longer than others. At least when someone dies you don't see them or have to hear about them again. It is the contact and then having to say goodbye again that messes with your head. Speaking as someone who separated from her ...

Sounds like you wanted a reaction from him.... maybe along the lines of, 'I miss you too and I am a wreck as well without you...' Unfortunately he didn't respond that way. But we have all done that kind of thing, whether it be a text or a call or an email. I did it with my ex. I changed my phone num...

Hi My boyfriend is 10 years my junior. Have been together for 3 years now and have bought a house together. I am incredibly happy and he is probably the best thing to ever happen to me. So age isn't really a factor. Personality and the way someone treats you is the key. Good luck with your fledgling...

Just wanted to say sorry about your predicament. How dreadful for you. Marriage should be a happy occasion but yours is causing nothing but heartache. From my point of view, if you have tried discussing the situation with your parents before and feel that they are not trying to see your side, then I...

I am afraid that i do not agree with your reply The Fool. A relationship does not have to end because of a lack of sex. There are many reasons why she may not wish to have sex at the moment. Yes it COULD be because the relationship is not what she wants anymore - but it does not sound that way from ...

i have had many bar jobs over the years - while at Uni or while filling a gap between other jobs. I have always met someone through each bar job! Some were just a couple of dates, but some were longer term and I met my current boyfriend while working in a pub. I had just moved to a different area an...

i can identify as my sex life was amazing when i first met my boyfriend. It is still is lovely when we do it, but i don't want to do it nearly as frequently and I know that this frustrates him. I agree that the pressure to have sex can make you disinclined to want it. Having to perform when you are ...

I'm sure everyone else has written the same thing (i haven't read all of the replies). But it IS NOT love.

Give it a few months for reality to set in and the honeymoon period to wear off. Then look at the relationship again if you are still in it.

hang in there

I don't know how old you are Annabelle, but I felt the same way as you up until the age of 29 when I met my partner of 3 years who i recently bought a house with . I had had boyfriends but none long term and had never been in love before- I often found myself telling myself that I must be in love - ...

well i just wouldn't go there for a while. Maybe next year you will feel differently and will be glad that you have it! When a relationship ends I think it is a good idea to distance yourself from painful reminders, but as they say "time is a healer"

Love conquers all

or does it? If you choose to commit to somebody, does it really mean through thick and thin, good and bad? When do you stop trying to make it right and what constitues a good enough reason to call it quits?

If you end a relationship, does it mean the love was not strong enough in the first place?
