2 years clean of weed

Postby SparkleFly12 » Fri Apr 23, 2021 10:32 pm

So its been 2 years and 2 months since I quit weed. My other thread "80 days clean of weed" I started a yeah and a half ago doesnt seem appropriate any more, so starting this one.

Actually has been close to 3 years of weed PAWS; because I started smoking again after a few months multiple times; thinking I was better. I wasnt, and each time it just restarted my sypmtoms to their worst. so its now been 2 years 2 months from the last time I did that.

Things have gotten a lot, lot better. Still not 100%, but I am close. On my bad days, Im at 90%; my good days Im at 100%.

My remaining symptoms are:
-Mild headache around temples
-Swollen lymph node in jaw
-Low libido / ED

They are all mild and come in waves. Its

I cant believe its been 2 years - when I first quit I thought it would be 3 months tops. Its really the slowest, longest most drawn out thing Ive ever experienced. But I do feel a LOT better than I did when I first quit...the first 6 months were hell; followed by 6 months of pain; then 12 months of discomfort; and the last couple months its been an annoyance.

debilitating headache
Severe insomnia
muscle soreness
brain fog
inability to form sentences well
Scary/vivid dreams
Low libido/ED
pain around eyes
swollen lymph nodes
depression
anxiety

Glad to put this all behind me; hopefully in another 3-4 months Ill be 100% better.

Cheers all. Just remember, time is the only cure for weed PAWS.

Congrats! That’s a big milestone. I’m at 5 months pushing on. I have swollen lymph nodes too, they come and go. Lots of random joint/bone pain, malaise, can’t sleep getting jolted back awake with chest pain, etc. I’m slowly getting there too. 2 years is really something to look forward to.

Almost 2.5 years now, and its a bit better. Still have a few days with mild headache or poor sleep or ED/low libido but its fewer days than before, and less than half the days.

Starting to feel more normal most of the time, which is good. Hopefully by the 3yr mark I'll be completely free of this. This may be controversial but I am probably going to introduce weed back into my life after the 3 yr mark- not daily use but with friends or socially. I'm not worried about using regularly ever again, I am not even worried about that in the least. But weed does do wonders for my stress levels, something I'm struggling with now. But we'll see, maybe weed will not be to my liking anymore as it reminds me of paws now.

Cheers all, hope you all feel bettersoon.

Thats sucks; but Ive been there. Stick with it; go back to smoking and you know you will just be postponing all this pain to a later date.

Do you remember this SparkleFly? Why take the chance? I mean, it's your call but why didn't you control it then and use socially if you could now? Just playing devil's advocate.

Totally agree with tokeless here. It's your decision, but remember you're putting back into your body what took 3 years to get out. There are so, so many options to reduce stress levels than smoking.

How long were you smoking for and at what age did you start?

@tokeless and 9month,

I know it seems crazy but I know I don't need to overuse weed anymore. I haven't smoked anything yet and I'm not going to until paws is more than 6months behind me (still have some symptoms some days). But I'm not worried smoking too much any more, I can use it in moderation like I do other things.

@gerre I smiled from 23-28 or so, the last few years were using concentrates and herb daily. High 8 or so hrs a day.

Maybe avoid stupidly high THC because nobody needs to use anything over 25% to get high. There's always a price on stupidity.
Best wishes

Hello,
Glad you are doing better. July 2nd mark my 3 years. Im going through a worst wave hopping this is the last and final one. My biggest complaint is depression. I have used CDB 9 months ago so I think it had prolong my weed PAW.
I’m surprise that after all this suffering you want to reintroduce weed to your life? As for as using it moderately let’s be honest to ourselves that is what every addicts thinks. When I start weed it was once every two weeks then it was ever weekend and then twice a week and every day and finally multiple times a day. Weed is not the answer to anxiety and stress management. It just numbs you and make anxiety and stress 1000 times worst in long run.
Personally speaking I will never touch weed, I will never go through the first year of PAW again that was a nightmare.
wish you all the best.

Yes, no more concentrates ever. That stuff was what messed me up. I never had anything more than mild paws symptoms when I only smoked herb, even though I overused it.

To be honest I don't know if I'll smoke again, I'm just not against it forever. I've gotten pretty used to not smoking. But for now I will not - going through a mild paws wave now. It's mild and not too bothersome, but still there. As I said before I won't even think about it until I've been symptom free for 6+ months.

The only symptoms I have now during a wave are swollen lymph node, sleep problems, head pressure, and low libido. All very mild now, even at their worst.

Cheers all, hope things get better for everyone.

3 years off is not alot to start using occasionally again imo, im also thinking about using occasionally again someday, but I'm planning on giving it atleast 5 years off, preferably even 10 years. Time in itself may not be enough either, imo you need to be in different place in life. If the circumstances are the same as when you were addicted there is a big chance of falling back.

If you've not done something you feel has harmed you for 5 or 10 years, why would you even consider doing it again?
That's like losing 20 stone and feeling trim, then thinking, you know what, I might put weight back on just to see what it felt like....

Not quite. Its like losing 20 stone then saying "maybe I can eat pizza and a donut today for lunch" which is fine as long as you are still disciplined about exercising and wont do it every day.

Its like Gerre said, you have to be in a different place in life which I am.
