I am afraid to ask benzo prescription and don't actually even want it because of the possible hook. Dunno if it makes sense to buy some from black market and from friends either.. :I

If you’ve done well so far without any benzo, I would keep it that way. My case is on the extreme side, so I didn’t have much choice. I’ve never used them for more than 5 days and always go with a minimal dose. In 9 months I may have used them around 12 times total. I think I can’t use them anymore, the last time I took a 1/4 pill of Ativan it did the opposite of calming me down, so there goes that.

I used oxazepam 15mg (half pill) for a week and noticed tolerance build up after that but I managed to get rid off Imovane (sleep aid) with those. Now I need to decide again what to do with benzos if I can't sleep at all, meh. Two sleepless nights is pretty much my max. Feeling so destroyed after that I can't work even remotely from home. We'll see :]

Don’t worry man, I’m on that same boat right now. 3 nights without sleep, it is 8:23AM and I’m sitting in bed without even a minute of sleep. I’m considering trying half a pill (0.50mg) to see if I don’t get the bad trip again. Last time I became very anxious when I took 0.25mg and my heart rate went up instead of calming me down. But maybe I built a tolerance to it and 0.25mg doesn’t work anymore. What a nightmare, I’m hurting from lack of sleep.

Have you tried 4-7-8-breathing? It should relax quite well. I used 4-4-4-4 box breathing method when I got some sleep before the supplement **** up. It worked pretty good when I woke up in the middle of the night. Transition back to sleep was quite fast.

DUDE - NO BENZOS. Talk about something that’ll F with you! It’ll only exacerbate PAWS. I just went through 2 serious surgeries in 2 months and freeballed it on extra strength Tylenol because there was NO WAY I could fathom dumping drugs into my PAWS-fragile body. I repeat - back surgery while going through PAWS hell with NO painkillers. Granted it was Norco I passed on, but ALL pharma is addictive, brain-zapping junk and BENZOS some of the worst. Check out those withdrawal symptoms. PAWS is effing with your brain and you are STRONGER than giving in to all these awful symptoms. I Said it before, I’ll say it again - Breathe. Breathe more, breathe better, breathe slowly and mindfully from your belly. Find a nighttime breathing routine on YouTube or somewhere and do it. It WILL work if you’re receptive to it. It may be hard to believe right now but YOU control your mind, not PAWS. You have got to get out of your own way Friend.

Hey man don't take the Buspirone. I took Buspirone to deal with PAWS and it was the worst experience of my life. It heightened all my PAWS symptoms times 100. What we PAWs sufferers need is a break from all external chemicals. Have faith that what your experiencing right now is just a wave and that things will get better. Keep living healthy and pushing on. You'll make it through this some day. Stay strong brother

Also I've heard from someone who has completely recovered from PAWs that he got his WORST wave when he was over a year in but by year two he was nearly completely healed. So don't lose faith if you get hit with a bad wave. I know it can be soul crushing to start to feel better and then feel like your back at square one. Just always remember that these set backs are normal and it doesn't mean your not on the path toward being healed. However, if you start introducing chemicals to your body again you really might be setting yourself back to square one.

Its so intense that sometimes I spiral into doubt and start thinking “this can’t be the PAWS, I must be seriously ill”. It was gone for at least a month, well, not entirely gone, but more like 90% less intense or frequent. But this month its back at full power. I’ve had mixed experiences with benzos. I used Ativan for very short periods when I went sleepless for days, when it kicked in, I would feel more anxious and sick for a while until I eventually fell asleep. But sadly the last time I used it, I had a real bad trip. My HR spiked and I went into full panic mode. It could be the dose. I never take more than 0.25mg. The pills are 1mg and I cut them 4 way and only take a piece at a time. Anyways, I may end up taking something soon if I don’t manage to sleep. This is my 4th sleepless night in a row. I’m sitting in bed watching my wife and my dog peacefully sleep while I’m trapped in a loop on this endless nightmare.

Holy sh** I missed this one. How is it going now man? I noticed anxiety build up if I take too low dosage and stay awake but I rly don't want to build up the tolerance either. I am struggling. I decided trying will power and breathing because I need the days off from benzos

I’m now coming off my worst PAWS wave ever at 9 months. I’m talking even worse than the first few months which in my case were hell. My face is going numb, my arms are tingling, my chest hurts, my heart is doing some crazy stuff, my left leg goes numb during the night, body pain everywhere, extreme weakness (my heart goes racing just from changing posture), involuntary movements, my bones feel like they are on fire, my heart starts pounding fast for no reason at any random moment, and all the worst goodies. It was so extreme that I thought “this can’t be the PAWS, this is way worse than anything I’ve had before”. So I ended up in the ER again, had a EKG, Echocardiogram, head CT, a full head/spine MRI, all kinds of bloodwork, they even did a test with a bunch of wires stuck to my head. And of course… Everything came back OK. They only found that sometimes I have a mild kind of arrhythmia called “Sinus Arrhythmia”, which is pretty common among healthy young adults. And also my BP is kind of low at times, but appears to be hereditary and benign. So after a whole week in the hospital, I got sent home, and the wave has been settling down slowly the last couple of days. sh**…

Damn that sounds extreme. Hang in there m8t! I think that sleep deprivation has something to do with those symptoms too. HC stuff. Thanks for replying.

Thanks man. I’m sure that some stuff was related to sleep depravation as well. I went sleepless for 7+ days. I’m getting a bit better sleep these last couple of days, and most importantly, benzo free. But the pains and symptoms during the night, it’s almost unbearable. Just holding on tight till this wave ends.

No meds. They only gave me some IV Pepcid on the first day in the hospital, but otherwise nothing else. The pain was heavy so the ER doctor approved some morphine but I declined on the fear that it could make me worse and disrupt my progress.

The last 2 or 3 days have been so much better, I was able to sleep on my own and felt like the end of PAWS was near, but today I’m having chest pain and crazy heartbeats again. I’m sitting in bed all sleepless with my left arm all numb and tingly, nauseous, and with chest pain as soon as I lie down. I’ve had this come and go so many times during PAWS, and always end up in the ER with nothing showing up… I’ll keep pushing on as med free as posible.
