Postby biggiesize » Wed Jul 08, 2015 3:12 pm

Hello friends.New and old.Im celebrating another year with out the hazy life that weed kept me in.I cant believe its been 7 years, but here it is! IT WASNT AN EASY RECOVERY.Any newcomers can read my posts dating back to 2008 for the full story. It took almost a year for the fog to lift and for my brain to recover from the fog and haze of marijuana.Dont give up! Its hard but it worth it!

Hey biggiesize! Thanks for posting! very nice to hear a long timer
whose story inspired me to start posting on this forum.
so awesome to hear you ve continued to move forward and things are going well
im on day 26, and the wd is'nt too bad yet, I don't sleep well
But I have no desire to smoke, and actually feel like this quit is the one ive been waiting for haha
love every day smoke free, as everyday, even if I feel tired, eyes burning
it is do able, and the clarity and increased focus helps to smooth out my daily
routine.intake l-theanine before work with coffee
and thats helping alot
i take sleepytime tea before bed, and that helps me to get a 5/6 hrs of decent sleep a night
no desire to drink alcohol which was something i tried on previous quits
this quit don't want even a little wine for a while to come
because I feel like my body and mind needs the break from gettting buzzed
plus, I love waking up feeling free of the previous days buzz hangover
feel so much younger, and lighter
my mood swings are way less intense than when I smoked
for me smoking weed had me either blissfully wasted, hiding out
or out in the world straight and raging, losingnmy temper
being short tempered, little patience
all from the upsand downs of sometimes stoned
sometimes not, so that when I wasnt stoned
I needed to know exactly when I could be stoned
I would obsess over the time, when it got nearer
and actually feel stressed if something had to be done(errands, etc) before I could
get to my smoke, a sad , unfulfilling life to be sure
when something as mild as weed completely controls you
to the point I behaved as if I were hooked on cocaine
and there was no hope I could stop.it was this forum
and quitters stories such as yours
that gave me the courage to try to beat this addiction
Thanks , and take care

amazing, congratulations! I'm on month 10 now, was absolutely hooked for years. still suffering from anxiety and clouded mind sometimes but it's gotten less intense as the months go by.

Did you feel 100% good after a year or did you continue too make improvements in the 2nd year?

Expotmsoker, I am 2 years clean and still seeing improvements. I was a heavy user for 25 years though (eek).

I can't believe how much of my life I wasted because of a stupid leaf.

Like many people here I am angered by the pro weed people. You only have to read this board to see how weed is messing up so many people's lives.

Hey mr biggiesize

I have read your story and am extremely inspired by it and I was going throught the same thing of haziness and confusion and bad memory but I want to know did you ever have serious anxiety or depersonalization/derealization? I have had this ongoing for about 7 weeks now and it has slowly gotten better. The haziness and confusion have gone away and my memory have gotten better. Just some remaining effects of it once in a while with an occasional anxiety attack. If so how did you get through it and when did it start to go away?
Thanks.

Biggiesize is a LEGEND. Newcomers, take a scroll down memory lane if you want to read a successful account of a long term cannabis smoker making a slow (but steady) recovery!

Hi,

I am starting my journey today. Day 1. Your story is an inspiration. I am scared too like you were in your first posts. I feel like I will never be the me I was before. I was very smart and determined. I started smoking at 16 and I've been smoking everyday for 12 years. I found out recently that your brain is still developing till the age of 25 and now I feel like I didn't give myself the chance to fully develop. I wonder if I am ever going to be able to become the version of myself I could have been today if I never smoked. Maybe I'll start my own thread to track my own journey. I appreciate how you've came back to update everyone. Thanks for sharing your story.
