Anxiety And Marijuana?

Postby Rajneesh » Fri May 25, 2018 6:53 am

Hi everyone. I just wanted to ask if any of you have tried marijuana for medication purposes? I've been suffering severe anxiety for almost a year now and planning to use medical marijuana products for my condition.I've been reading some articles about cannabis and its medical properties here in bonzaseeds,com/blog/flo/ and im very fascinated about it. Not lucky for me in my country use of marijuana is illegal but now im planning to move in Colorado where you can use marijuana without any hassle. I really wanted to hear your thoughts about this and if you can give my any advice or tips feel free to tell me. Thanks

A good friend of mine swears by it. He used to take medication (I believe Ativan), but instead, found marijuana to carry less side effects and to be overall more effective.

I live in California where it is also now legal. You should speak to a physician to get a professional opinion, but you can certainly give it a try in a Colorado.

Have you ever ingested marijuana?

Research on marijuana (and CBD oil) and anxiety is limited though some people swear by it.

Try it and see how it affects you, but if you're going to take a drug for an emotional issue, it's important to be in treatment for that same emotional issue. Otherwise you're masking the symptoms and the underlying neurosis may get worse.

Exactly what DrPsychFeels said. It helps the symptoms but not the cause of anxiety. I would go down a path of trying different therapies, counselors/psychiatrists/psychologists to figure out and treat the cause of your anxiety than only deal with the anxiety (symptom) itself.

For me and a lot of others weed greatly increases anxiety. Struggling myself, I think its more useful to figure out the source. For me I'm pretty sure its a stressful job.

Hey
I can tell you about my experience - if you want to read the whole thing I have a thread in the addiction part of this forum.

I started smoking weed to help me deal with feelings of uneasiness and I suppose depression when I look at it. I had anxiety and weed provided a warm blanket at the end of the day to slip under and forget.

I have no real experience with medical grade products but I have smoked a lot of Cali and Colorado weed and I am not sure that it’s much different. Just you guys have a lot stronger stuff haha

I would highly suggest meditating and mindfulness as opposed to weed. It will help you but if you read my story you will see that the warm blanket slowly turned into a choking hold over me. I’m 13 weeks clean today and I’m still in the depths of withdrawing from the effects it’s had.

Try your best to manage your thoughts and feelings naturally with self help first would be my suggestion as weed has definitely intensified a lot of the emotions and feelings I felt.

Hope this helps
