PAWS: the 3, 6, 9 month rule?

Postby FriendlyFriend » Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:01 pm

I have read this notion a few times on this forum, that at every three month mark there is a sudden onset of PAWS symptoms. It has certainly been true for me. Tomorrow I will have been 9 months clean and for the past two days I have been feeling horribly anxious and depressed out of the blue. Exactly on the clock. I thought I had already beaten paws since I had been free of symptoms for a couple of months now, but looks like it's go time again.

Who else has noticed the 3-6-9 rule to be true?

This is a very good questions. And I have wondered about this myself.

I have gone through the same thing.
However i do believe PAWS is what you make of it. And after the initial 3 weeks of quitting, its really up to how you treat yourself in the present that determines the majority of well-being.

Take a step back, and look at your lifestyle, your activities, diet, screen-use, fitness etc... and see where you are at.
Take the paws as a signal, or advantage to re-assess and desire some improvement somewhere.

Hope you get through this 'rut' of sorts. You've gotten through 3m and 6m, 9m should be easy peasy.

Best wishes!
