Thanks for the suggestions. I tried viewing every PM but that didn't make any difference, so I tried deleting all the messages apart from the ones in my Savebox, which I don't really want to delete, and that made no difference either.

Oh well, it's not a major problem as I get an email notification of new messages and I like the new feature that allows new messages to be read in the email notification - thanks for that.

I have no idea why or whether it is even related but I think the problem started happening for me once I upgraded to Internet Explorer 8. Not sure though.

Hi Roger- Regarding the post jumping, I'm using Internet Explorer. I also have Firefox but don't use it b/c it's very slow. I have a dial-up connection. My computer is a Compaq Presario F500 with Windows Vista.

Thanks for looking into this! If this helps any; the scroll bar on the reply window is very long. In other words, it never shortens enough to let it scroll down automatically. Does this make sense? The scroll bar is about 5/8 as long as is the bar window. Yes? I wish I new more technical terms to be able to explain better!

Not sure if I did something wrong when I registered, but I am unable to post a signature. My profile has only the place for me to change my PW or username and I have button choice of various the options e.g email notification for a topic.

I am not sure if there is a users on line function either, but if there is, I cannot see it.

I use firefox.

I would like to see an indicator at the top of the page notifying me that I am signed it with my username.

I reckon a 'Signed in as xxxxxxx' should be easy enough, and I can see the rationale, thanks cr8trface

Re the text box entry jumping issue, the problem is apparently with Internet Explorer 8. Our developer reckons he has fixed it, so if you were having the problem before, if you could check this and let me know here that would be great.

Am I too late for suggestions?? Someone suggested way bay a 'family' or child psychology space .. which I thought was good and could/should include Attachment (theory, issues etc.,) or a forum that included issues like ADHD, Aspergers, Autism ... fairly common lables today!

Just some thoughts!!

family life contributes to depression, it'd be nice to have an area for it.

Also, there's a lot of "growing pains" types of posts that get lumped in with depression - would an under 30's (or whatever age you think is appropriate) section be useful or would it be open to exploitation?

Finally, I can't tell if this is already possible, but I'd like a "new posts" link that shows what new stuff has just been put on. Lots of other fora use them, they save time & encourage conversation.

I would absolutely love the opportunity to discuss religion. I would be very interested in hearing the thoughts from other professionals, experts, students or arm chair psychologists about this issue.

Religion is an important social and psychological issue. Perhaps it is one of the most important. This fact is true on a global level - literally. I am interested in learning more about it on a clinical level.

I understand a topic of this nature is very personal to many as it ought to be. I also understand topics of this nature often cause debate/anger as it should not. I understand rather than confront this topic head on people almost always choose to ignore it.

Generally speaking psychology seems terrorized to speak openly about it. I do not give a rats donkey why Richard Dawkins thinks it is stupid. Nor do I care why Pat Robertson loves it. I would be extremely interested in an on going unbiased critical examination as it directly relates to the psychological impact on the individual and society.

It is so damn hard to find this; it is impossible? People are just too afraid to do it or incapable of doing it. The few sites which do openly seem to discuss religion are atheistic in nature.

Why are we afraid to discuss it here? Is it not important? For the vast majority of the world is it not absolutely relevant? This is a topic psychology should be a leading authority on.

Yet - well I do not know? Perhaps I do not understand?
