Here is a funny story from the Metro last week. I guess it might be a publicity stunt. It is unfortunate that whatever technique was used has resulted in substitution of one habit for another.

A colleague told me once that the way to spot someone faking invisibility as opposed to actually experiencing it is to make a chair invisible and put it in their path. Oddly, if the person walks into the chair they are deemed to be faking. If they walk around it, however, then they are deemed to be genuinely not seeing the chair. Confusing? The reason given was that the subject needs to avoid the chair that their unconscious can see in order to maintain the conscious representation that the chair is not there. Bumping into it is what someone who is faking is likely to assume to be the result.

Anyone fancy testing this?

I zapped someone and created the invisibility effect. I made his friend invisible to him.

I then had the friend stand in the doorway between 2 rooms and told the zapped guy to walk into the next room.

He went full force into the friend.

I asked him "what happened?". He said "I bumped into the door...".

It appeared to me that the effect was genuine....

That doesn't necessarily disprove it. With no way around the person the subconscious could have been forced to make a decision. Go through, or make the doorway disappear.
If you make a way around the person, you might get different results.

i made the door to my back shed invisible to one of my friends he couldnt believe it so he pushed it open and fell out of the shed, then he went to jump back in the shed, (its 2 doors but one of them was locked) so he went to jump in and took the door handle to the sternum, he was fine but it was very interesting
