Benefits of being off weed

This is the best way to lower your cannabis tolerance. It takes approximately 3 weeks for THC to leave your system. So your cannabis tolerance break should be at least 21 days long. You may experience withdrawal symptoms if you use cannabis regularly.

Taking breaks from smoking cannabis, including how tough I found it to avoid (was constantly thinking about it) gave me a hint that it might be better to stay away from it entirely.

I feel better without it, even if I do miss it on rare occasions. If you're able to consume it in a way that works for you, who am I to judge?

I smoked for over 20 years. Now that I'm THC/CBD free for over a decade and a half, I have no plans to step backwards. The one exception I allow myself (I choose to never say never) is that I will use cannabis medicinally if/when I need it in my later years. Telling myself "never again" makes me think I'm missing something. For now, I'm choosing not to use. My life is the best it's ever been.

My invitation to you is to take a clear look at your own consumption levels and do what works for you!

1.5 years off booze (in a few days). It has made me aware that weed is the harder substance for me to stay away from. Quitting booze has been a breeze in comparison.

That said, now that I'm not drinking I have noticed a voice in my head saying it would be okay to use cannabis in moderation since I don't drink.

I'm here, checking in, reading all the posts of newly quitting folks to remind myself why I do NOT want to go back to smoking weed. No burned out mood for me (once the high wanes). No spending money I don't need to (to have a good time). Thankfully, no PAWS for me (if I don't go back to smoking).

Thanks for all of your posts on this forum. You help me keep myself on track.

I quit in 2006, and I have new found resolve to keep living this cannabis-free life.

My quest is not a T-break, I am currently on my third attempt for freedom after a 35 year habit, now at day 77. My mantra this time around is “I am free from cannabis, and I am going to remain free, free from cannabis, for the rest of my life.” As I reap the benefits of my freedom, once again I am really noticing benefits such as: Confidence, I’m no longer hiding in my shell. Creativity, I’m drawing again, something I haven’t done in years, and I am keeping a journal now. More money, I no longer waste my cash on expensive paraphernalia and gov’t taxed weed. Most of all, I can think more clearly and feel much healthier.

This has not been an easy journey for me, but I now know that I can’t be an occasional user. The “once in a while” mindset does not work for me and I know one toke will lead me back down into the rabbit hole of dependency. Even the thought of “maybe one day in the future” isn’t an option, l know it’s all or nothing and I want it all, all of the benefits, not the nothingness of cannabis addiction.

Quitting marijuana delivers substantial benefits. Some positive changes happen right away, while some may take a few weeks or months. Physical and mental benefits include:

Increased energy and motivation
An improved ability to focus
Better memory
Improved breathing
Healthier respiratory and cardiovascular system
A more positive, balanced mood.

Good luck to you, wakinglife. https://interestingliterature.com/2021/ ... -analysis/

There's plenty of evidence that previous civilisations more advanced than our own have been wiped out. The coronahoax is the latest in a VERY long line.

Huge thanks to you WakingLife, this thread has been very useful and important to me in my quest for sobriety. I will carry the lessons contained here into the future as I continue my journey. This thread is by far the best of the forum and we will be lucky to find something as valuable on another forum. Thanks again, and hope to hear from you in the future.

I recommend that people copy good, useful or just plain funny material to word docs or take screenshots for future reference.

Your thread has been the longest-running and most encouraging of everything I've seen in the Addictions forum, with jazzz (2008 to 2016) a distant second. I hope you and others here who are quitting or wanting to quit cannabis will continue the conversation on https://forum.weedpaws.net/viewforum.php?f=3, newly set up by 9monthquit.

Most of us know marijuana can be habit-forming. We also know the benefits of quitting weed are real. We can see the struggle in friends or family members engaged in heavy marijuana use. It is true that it may not have the addictive potential of many other substances of abuse. Alcohol, opiates and benzos are all more physically addictive. This gives many marijuana users a false sense of security. The truth is heavy users experience symptoms of marijuana addiction. Any moderately heavy marijuana users who question this should try quitting cold turkey for month or more. They’ll soon find that marijuana withdrawal is more than a myth.
