anger from incarceration

Postby almarasgada » Fri Jun 03, 2005 5:15 am

Does anyone out there know of any chats or support groups for people recovering from anger problems related to family members past incarceration? I never realized until today, that so much of my built up rage, is because of everything my daughter and I went through as a consequence of my husband being inprisoned before. Does anyone have any positive experience with the support groups for anger problems, any advice will be appreciated
Thanks

Hello there almarasgada

Havee you tried any general support groups for people whose family members/partners have been or are imprisoned? I would have thought that they deal with questions like that too.

I searched and came across:

http://www.e-ccip.org/ - The Center for Children of Incarcerated Parents (CCIP)

http://www.geocities.com/heartland/flats/5661/ - Families Outside The Wall (This is a Yahoo members group, not an organisation)

http://www.fcnetwork.org/ - Family & Corrections Network

http://www.friendsoutside.org/ - Friends Outside

I found all these links on this site: http://groups.msn.com/True-emotions-netPrisonSupportGroup/othersupportgroups.msnw There are more links, some of them did not work when I looked but they might just have been temporarily unavailable.

Some of those are more for people who are in prison and their families and about more 'practical' issues but they may have links that are useful to you.

I hope those help.

Best wishes
