I'm certainly no psychologist, but I do know that looking forward to something for a long time means that when that anticipation is resolved (i.e., the wedding), there is suddenly a gap in the mind where that anticipation was. Change is always stressful, and even if you've been living with someone for years, the WEDDING makes a huge difference in how you feel about life. It represents a fundamental change in your identity: You go from being "single" to being "married." And that is a change in substance (in the Greek sense, like "transubstantiation") that takes a little while to get used to.
When was the wedding? How long have you been depressed?
