27 months quit - i give up

Postby 2yearquit » Sat Dec 23, 2017 2:13 am

this is hell on earth I am 27 months clean from weed on christmas day and no longer want to live like this. The waves of depression and hopelessness i feel on a weekly basis is heartbreaking to say the least after been quit for so long.
I do not know what to do.

What kind of life do you live in terms of activities, social contacts or work. What is your typical day like?

Hey man, I'm sorry to hear that - 27 months is long time! Nevertheless, congratulations for being without it for more than two years... It may be from weed, maybe not, could you tell us please:

How much did you smoke before (and for how many years)?

Have you had any single joint / toke during these 27 months?

Anyway, hope you will feel better, have a happy holidays!

Hi guys - Thank you all for taking the time to read my post and reply.
To answer some of your questions I smoked very heavily from the ages of 21 to 33 and for 10 years daily. I live in New York and am self employed but struggle to find the motivation for work that I once had when I was a daily smoker.
The truth is I have absolutely seen improvement over these last 27 months and wrote that post when I was in the absolute depths of a paws enduced depression.
It is hard to see any progress when I feel like that but I have had weeks where I feel completely normal and symptom free.
The progress is just so slow that is the really frustrating part.
Thank you again this forum is a fantastic resource.
Happy holidays.

Just checking in...where are you at now? Are you feeling any better? It looks like 2 1/2 years at this point, but I'd like to hear your perspective. I've heard it can be 2-5 years, especially for heavy users, to rewire the brain. Everybody's different, so who knows. Hope your still in the fight

Hiya mate ,
I’ve just seen your post and later this month I will be 32 months quit. There has been a world of change over the past 90 days or so I’m feeling back to normal I very rarely have any symptoms and when I do they don’t last for much longer than a day and are fairly manageable. It just took that long for me to heal approx 30 months but I was a very serious smoker for over 10 years.
For those still struggling fight on things will change . Best of luck my friends .

Wow that's amazing, almost 3 years! Thanks for responding...I'm on day 35 and it feels like my soul is being squeezed out of my body each passing day. I was heavy for 20 years, so it looks like a long, long road. Ive never been one for long term goal achieving (big Surprise) but this is it for me. Great to hear your story and your accomplishment, that's fantastic. I needed to hear this today, so thanks again. Take care

Mate I have been there trust me. I was pretty much incapacitated for 2 plus years unable to work to do anything . I really thought I would never feel normal again. Hang in there it’s a long road but it does get better I promise .
