Paws Help

Postby Newme20 » Wed Mar 04, 2020 1:18 pm

156 days today...the las 2 weeks I saw a lot of improvement..then got hit with a train of anxiety and intrusive thoughts the past 3 days, some depression as well. No sleep, I had to take of work today but I feel even more shitty just being alone in bed. No sleep is the worst and I have no control of it. I only have so many days to miss work idk what to do. Why would it be so strong at this stage ? It’s crazy it makes me think if I need meds or professional help. It don’t help that I google my symptoms and it makes me feel worse like I have a mental illness.

I didn’t have this before or while smoking, maybe a little anxiety but nothing like this. Worse months of my life idk what to do.

I have been through the same situation. Depression and anxiety are due to gut issues. I tried collagen and it worked wonders. For sleep I recommend doxylamine. It will get better with time. I just crossed the 8 month mark and things have improved remarkably

All the best

@maneeshs15 yeah I feel good most of month4 and then it comes back like month 2. I didn’t want to but today I’m going to get some type of over the counter sleep aid. So collagen helped you? I thought that was for skin and hair benefits?

For OTC doxylamine is the best. I tried all sleep medicines but none helped ( including diaZepam, alprazolam etc) Collagen helps in healing the gut and as per my experience leaky gut causes anxiety and racing thoughts. Read my post for my experience. All the best

Counting the days is a mug's game. Instead of getting on with life as a non-smoker, every day for months you've been thinking about life as an addict. Keeping your eye on the addiction, making it your primary focus, guarantees that any and every little thing becomes a symptom. Why wouldn't it? You haven't got enough going on in your life!

It don’t help that I google my symptoms and it makes me feel worse

That's a useful insight.

Professional help could be a good idea, if you can afford it, but before that I'd be looking at increasing the number of non-stoner friends you have, finding some other interests, getting busy.

At the very least, join a gym or take up a sport. Get the blood pumping harder, extra oxygen in your body. Exhaust yourself with healthy activity and you'll sleep a whole lot better.

Half a yr is not long on the paws timetable. 1, 2 years or even occasionally 3 are often how long it takes for many to recover.

You gotta accept feeling shitty as a part of your life. Don't count days, I started counting months just to keep track but other than that, dont bother counting. You're going to feel shitty for months more - accept it and get on with your life and goals. Just plan to give yourself a lighter schedule where possicble, to not exacerbate things.

Cheers, feel better.
