I think others would agree that no amount of advice given here can substitute for sessions with an anger management therapist. I think that advice is best left to them.

As far as arguments go, well in my verbal martial arts course, I teach a couple of important principles:

1. Anger comes from a sense of frustration and helplessness.
2. The most important part of a conversation is listening, not talking.
3. Arguments happen because both sides are talking and no one is listening.
4. The person who is able to ask the most questions, not statements, is the person who controls the conversation.

Like Judo, don't resist her ideas and don't judge them. Simply listen and acknowledge them. Once she feels like you understand her view, then she will be more receptive to your own ideas.

Hi

4. The person who is able to ask the most questions, not statements, is the person who controls the conversation."

All those 4 statements, are 100% correct, you are good!

I am about to phone for my 1st CBT session (worried about that lol), but they help with anger, which hopefully may help me!

Thanks
