we all have a different response to drugs, how are you doing with the rest of your health. Are you eating well, drinking well, exercising well?

Hello

Sorry to hear you have not achieved the desired effect from Lamictal. I stopped taking medications a decade ago. They did not work for me. Yes, I had a panic disorder. But, my doctors treated the symptoms and not the cause of the disorder which was caused by c-PTSD that is not caused my chemical imbalances. Therefore, the drugs prescribed to me did not address my dis-ease.

I don't know what is going on in your case. I offer my experience as food for thought. Hope it helps.

This seems to be the standard for sufferers of c-ptsd. In my experience the usual treatments for ptsd (drugs, talk therapies, emdr) don't touch the complex variety. As Pete Walker says, we're more likely to be given a dismissive label or worse, get locked up. :(

Renowned traumatologist, John Briere, is said to have quipped that if Complex PTSD were ever given its due – that is, if the role of dysfunctional parenting in adult psychological disorders was ever fully recognized, the DSM (The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders used by all mental health professionals) would shrink to the size of a thin pamphlet. ~ http://pete-walker.com/fAQsComplexPTSD.html

Adding to Candid's post, I have also read Pete Walker's book -- Thriving to Surviving. It is a must read for anyone with an anxiety disorder. .
