Would love to hear if you have a system in place for this and what you do?

I ask myself "What can I do right now to keep me happy?" and then I do that.

Make a list (either physical and mental) of things you have to do, then plan a couple of fun things and relaxation time around that. With regards to chores, I try to do them on my days off so I relax when I get home.
I'm currently reading What the most successful people do before breakfast by Laura Vanderkam and finding it helpful.
What are you struggling with?

Sundays I use to set my weekly targets. I use the Priorities App. I use Cube Pro to track my time. Working for myself I find these tools invaluable. From Monday - Thu, I focus on process, not results.

Edit: two other items, my first action each day is exercise, my second action is always the toughest thing I need to work on. The rest of the day I focus on smaller items.

A philosophy i've heard is to eat the frog. If the first thing your do every day is to eat the frog then nothing else you do will be difficult at all. I'm not sure if I agree, but there is a clever book thats a 20minute read. I always like those.

I personally have a ask myself, "what is going to add the most value to my company today?", and "what does my boss trying to get done right now?" and that usually get my going pretty good. Good Luck!!

They won't let me post a link, but type in "eat the frog" into google and there is a 2min video.

Let me introduce you to the system called GTD. GTD stands for Getting Things Done.

Buy the book by David Allen - Getting Things Done. This book can change your life.

All the best,

I have my own success journal with me.
I will use it every night before I sleep to write down all the things that
I need to get done on the coming days.

I write down my goals, my plans and what I am going to achieve
in my journal so I can better plan it using the notebook.

Ever since I'm using the journal to record down all my stuff, I've accomplished
much more in life and I think it has become a habit for me, :)

Every night before going to bed i decide my task for the next day. On monday, I usaually spend more time in research and do little task implementation. Then gear up the things from tuesday. I usaually work hard on tuesaday , wednusday and thursaday so that I can complete all my task before friday and can effectivily enjoy weekend with my family and friends. I agree that for a balanced life, proper time management and planning is needed. And it is also necessary that we must follow our stretagy. I think, To acheive success, self decipline is very important.

I use the Eisenhower 4 quadrants matrix.

Grab a piece of paper and draw a vertical line across the middle of the page. Then draw a horizontal line across the middle of the page. You should now have 4 sections or quadrants.

The Top Left Quadrant is for tasks that are Urgent and Important. examples include submitting a proposal to a client, baby crying or house flooding.

The Top Right Quadrant is for Not Urgent and Important Tasks. These tasks need to be done for your career advancement, health, relationships, but are rarely urgent. Examples include Business or Career planning, Exercise or planning the next holiday.

The Bottom Left Quadrant is for Urgent, but Not Important Tasks. These are things that are supposedly urgent, but won't really help you achieve longer term goals. These include phone calls, interruptions and distractions.

The Bottom Right Quadrant is for Not Urgent and Not Important tasks. These include Trivia, busy work and time wasting activities.

The goal is to work through these in the order I described above and not let seemingly urgent tasks get in the way of the work that really needs to be done to progress in your career or in life in general.

Google Eisenhower Matrix to find out more.

Hope this helps

Paul
