Eye colour change through hypnosis?

It wasn’t a question[...]I don’t understand [...] It is a self-reflective statement being shared with readers.

If you’re just trying to advertise your ignorance, not resolve it, that’s fine. The offer stands though. If you’re no longer deep in the fun and can’t imagine how I could be having fun, then I’ll ease up on ya. Just let me know.

Sincerely.

As for not randomly copying/pasting from any number of links, it is because I value my time jimmy. If there is a study you found most relevant, contribute it to the discussion.

It takes less than ten seconds to turn the doi info into a link; they have all been contributed to the discussion. If you don’t have ten seconds to spare, then you certainly don’t have time to read any of the abstracts, and therefore you don’t have time to participate in this conversation as anything other than an uninformed dingbat.

Or, you know, at all. Since even writing dingbat comments about how you can’t copy and paste take longer than the 10 seconds it takes to copy and paste, especially when you write three of them!

I doubt you even read any of the studies you posted
.

Do you at least believe that I read the abstracts? Because I have a suspicion that *you* have. I know you read that wikipedia link I gave you last time, even though you never acknowledged doing so ;)

No need to ease up for me jimmy. You obviously believe name calling serves your purpose.

For anyone interested...

Here is another article that lists 6 reasons your eyes might change color. Some more permanent than others.

https://www.2020onsite.com/blog/6-reaso ... ange-color

While hypnosis is not listed, it stands to reason that hypnosis falls safely in the category of temporary adjustments to pupil size, light received, mood, etc. These in turn can give the appearance that hypnosis is causal.

I have yet to find a single peer reviewed study that demonstrates otherwise. If anyone can locate such a study I would be interested in reading it.

Post a clickable link of a study you believe relevant.

6 or more clicks for a regular copy/paste URL.

In Firefox it is four clicks . . .
1.leftclick - highlight text
2.rightclick - menu
3.leftclick searchGooglefor"thistext"
opens the search in new tab
4.leftclick the search result item

Nothing to get all up in arms about, I believe. In other words, if this is what works to place more than three links into a post, 'Just Go With It, Man.'

It's a great day in the neighborhood.

It isn’t about the clicks required quietvoice. It is about the presumed value.

Let’s say you have a question about heart disease and I respond with, “Here is three pages of google results.” I respond by asking if you could narrow it down by picking the most relevant or a relevant article out of the links provided. Please provide a clickable link is the request.

The response could have been, “Out of the three pages, the article I found on heart disease most relevant was XYZ, and while not clickable here is the cut/paste url.”

Instead, the response seeks to obscure the fact that the poster has no real knowledge of the articles. They can’t pick a most relevant, because they haven’t really read any of them. They may have some knowledge of heart disease, but the three pages of google results they submitted they really don’t know much about. They just figured it was a clever way to make it appear like they have evidence to support whatever claim they wish to make.

Again, if there is a particular peer reviewed study that demonstrates hypnosis results in permanent eye color changes, please post it....regardless if it is clickable or not. I would be interested to read it.

No need to be passive aggressive. In fact, it tends to work better if you just say what you want and why. I’ll say the same thing this time without calling you a dingbat, but I have to warn you, asking for the removal of any and all humor does not make the resulting bitter pill any *less* harsh on you. “Dingbat” is simply the nice way of saying it.

Let’s say you have a question about heart disease and I respond with, “Here is three pages of google results.” I respond by asking if you could narrow it down by picking the most relevant or a relevant article out of the links provided.

Every single one of the links given is extremely relevant, and has been selected for relevance, and you know this.

You know this because I didn’t say “here are three pages”, I said “here are the *relevant results* from the first three pages”, and then posted far less than three pages of material. You know because I told you “I just posted several, you dingbat”, when you asked for studies I had read that contradict your statement. You also know full well that the rational “presumption of value” when I post something saying “in ten seconds you can have undeniable proof that you’re wrong” isn’t “it’s certainly not actually what he says, and my time is too valuable to check even though it’s not too valuable to defend not checking”. You know this because your own presumption is that when I challenge you, you will experience cognitive dissonance out of inability to address how damn solid my points tend to be. You know this because in every single interaction we’ve had where I’ve had to correct you, this has been the result. I have backed up everything I’ve said, and you’ve lied, obfuscated, and distracted in vain until you can run away and I consider the point to have been made. Again, examples available at request.

You know this all, and you are simply pretending not to, even though you know full well that you aren’t convincing anybody. You pretend because you’re afraid that admitting that you can read the abstracts will make people realize that you know you were wrong, and you don’t know how to handle that.

You don’t know how to handle that because you don’t know how to admit that you know you were wrong and still speak confidently on these matters without pangs of shame for not updating towards humility on a topic you have much to be humble about.

And you don’t know how to speak humbly without also feeling not-okay as a person for not being “experty” enough.

This is extremely embarrassing for you, and you are right to be embarrassed. At least if you had the fortitude to joke about it, it would feel “okay”. At least if you had the courage to say “I messed up” and stop digging, people would be able to look at you without *pity*. And being pitied is about the least comfortable thing to experience.

Again, I know this is harsh, and that’s why I originally just said it as a playful “dingbat” comment. I would like to be able to joke with you about this, and to show you how it can be okay to be a “[redacted]” sometimes.

Again, if there is a particular peer reviewed study that demonstrates hypnosis results in permanent eye color changes, please post it....regardless if it is clickable or not. I would be interested to read it.

Nice try, but you know that’s not the subject that you’re wrong about. Image

Not sure what universe you live in where dialogue = harsh

If anyone wishes to provide a peer reviewed article that demonstrates hypnosis permanently changes eye color, I would be interested to read it.
