Is there a time of the day that you are more prone to Panic?

Postby Doodlebug » Mon Dec 15, 2003 6:14 am

Hi I'm Niki and have been having anxiety/panic attacks for just under 2 yrs. I have been on Aropax, and had weaned myself off them, and 3 weeks later all was well until this weekend. I live in Australia and the stifling heat is getting to me no end  I feel so hot and faint all the time that I constantly feel on the verge of a panic attack. What I was wondering was, this feeling disappears after lunch, I feel fine now at 4pm but this morning I was on the phone crying to my mum 'cos I felt so scared and worried. This has been happening since Friday. I wake up feeling tense and anxious but by about noon I am fine again.

Anyway, if someone knows why I am like I am, besides being a dizzy blonde lol, please feel free to let me know. :D

Hi Niki,

Have you had a look at this information about panic attacks? It gives really helpful advice to help you take back control.

With regards to the time of day you feel like this, I wonder what your sleep pattern is like. Does it cool off later in the afternoon out there as you say this seems to have an effect. And perhaps you could tell us a bit more about your lifestyle and possible triggers.

Hope we can help :D

Andy.

Hi Niki

One thing that eating can do is stabilise blood sugar, which can get rid of feelings of faintness and anxiety, particularly if complex carbohydrates and protein is eaten.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for that. I am finding that if I have sugary snacks, I get very tired quickly, so I will try to take nuts etc with me to work so that I can snack on them if I feel a little low. My sleeping patterns have changed since I started the attacks, back in August 2002. I used to be up early and be in bed by 9pm. Now I can stay up til 11 - 12 but when I wake up at 6 -6.30, I am still tired. I am not on Aropax now, having finshed them about 3 weeks ago. I did have a 1/2 tab on Monday because I had some drama's going on and I wasn't coping, but now that is all fixed up, I am fine. Is it better to take 1/2 a Xanax if I feel that I can't cope every now and again, instead of starting up the Aropax again. I dont want to be on meds, they make me feel like a zombie - no ups or downs!!! Anyway, I have found this forum really beneficial thank you :D
