Relapsed after 13 months of PAWS

Postby 1yearPAWS » Mon Oct 11, 2021 5:30 pm

Hello,

I've just been through 13 hellish months of post acute withdrawals. I saw a lot of progress in that time and would say I was on course for a 2 year recovery. However, yesterday I relapsed and got high (just one time). Do you think this has set me back all the way? just a couple months? not at all since it was just once?

Thank you,
D

Moment of weakness when I was out with my mates who were smoking. I forgot about how much I suffered over the last 13 months. I can say for sure it will never happen again though. Do you think ill be alright?

Considering the level of misery I - and probably you too - subjected myself to during the first 9 months of my abstinence I just cannot see what degree of ignorance made you think that smoking weed after 13 months of being clean was even remotely a good idea. Personally, using cannabis is not in my mental dictionary any more. There is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING that could make me do it again. As for the damage your relapse can inflict on you, if you didn't have a bad trip and no anxiety or wave has hit you since then, you're probably good, but don't be an idiot next time!

I've just been about 20% worse than I was before I hit it. My guess is it was a setback just not all the way.
