How to improve communication and customer service skills?

Postby onioncrafty » Fri Aug 21, 2015 1:03 am

Hi. Glad to be back. First, I wanted to share that I was finally given a break in our company. I am now a team leader in our Sales & Marketing Department and I have 6 agents with me. Part of my job is to do some product presentation along with my team so I wanted to be more confident and at the same time learn some good tips in communicating well with different customers...we need to catch their attention and be able to close a deal. Right now, our company does not have a budget for training and seminar...they said that the new budget is going to be ready by early next year. So my only choice is to do it by myself...I don't have time anymore to attend seminars so I'm just searching and keep reading on what's available around the web. In case you know a good site, please share it with me. Thank you.

Congratulations on your new role! :D

I've been training Communication Skills within organizations for 20 years. I've got some great free resources at my site conveyclearly.

Most of it is about being confident, persuasive, authoritative, yet warm!

My first tips for you as a new manager are to:

1. Use an authoritative yet warm voice. To get this voice you have to be relaxed, use lots of air for your speech, make sure you go down at the end of all declarative statements.

2. Paraphrase what people say. Miscommunication can lead to bad blood at the workplace. Make sure you clarify that you heard your colleagues correctly. Also, it makes them feel validated which is great for a positive workplace experience.

There's lots of stuff on my blog & website that helps you to communicate better with your staff, boss & clients. I've got a free download on the site called 9 Secret Steps to Influencing Others.

I hope it helps! You can contact me with specific questions anytime!

Warm regards,
Ita Olsen

Hi! congratulation on getting a good position in your company, And as far as improving communication is concerned then I suggest that you, along with your team members need to do some exercise like, mostly related to emotions and mood swings. I gave tonnes of speeches and let me tell you some of them were unexpected and surprise speeches, and at those time, if you lose your emotional stability then you might lose the opportunity. And if the mood is not right then you can imagine not so good experience.

And the second important thing you can do that will save your time is to get good people with smart talking skills and personality in your team, Especially those who has a broad smile and 'E' in their name. According to the body language scenario, the one with the broad smile line is the one who gets most attention and attraction too thus with those type of people you can your client's span in conversation (this is small trick I use most of the time and it always works) , As I'm an analyst, self-help and life-coach. during one of my projects I discovered that if you take the whole name ( first name ,middle name and last name ) into account of all the good poets the most common letter you'll find all has, is 'E' in numerological term letter 'E' resonates with public speaking, poems, writing skills and fame because of one of this things.

Assuming this they will naturally know how to talk nicely providing they have emotional stability and good mood :) you can look up my work here and can also contact me here.
