Glad I found this forum! Almost 4 months off weed

Postby BenBatch » Wed Aug 25, 2021 11:29 am

Hi everyone,

I am almost at 4 months since I quit smoking. And I'm feeling very apathetical or depressed, especially about my work.
I thought it would be ok in a month after stopping, but it's still going on!

I was smoking weed almost daily for 15 years with some breaks for few weeks.

There is little to no info about withdrawal symptoms that I'm feeling right now on the internet. I had to dig in for a while until I've found this forum. And it's great! I'm glad I am not alone in this journey and to know that it's ok that my symptoms last way longer than I thought at the beginning.

I wish everyone in the process to succeed. Stay strong!

Congratulations on your four months!
We are aproximately on the same timeline and I totally get the demotivation about work. Stress tolerance is way down and frustration is really high. It seems like only deadlines seem to make me work right now with a grin because it has to be done.
Last week I was also unbelievable depressed and anxious and out of desperation I started the Wim Hof method. Normally I'm rather sceptical about stuff like this but it really helped from the first time. I don't want to convince anybody just share what helped for me and trying doesn't hurt. The cold showers still suck though but 100 times better than feeling aweful all the time. Stay strong!

Hey @PAWnorama,
Thank you for your response!

Now I'm weed free for more than 5 months. Feeling good. I mean I had some rough days, but there were reasons related to relationship with my girlfriend. So I think anybody would feel bad in that moments. Now we're having wonderful days together.
About my work, I started another job part-time besides current one. So that gets me excited a little. And I'm not so nervous about procrastinating as before.

I think now I'm at the stage of getting my sh** together with my life. Which became a big mess during smoking years.
I try to connect more with my parents by calling and visiting them. It's said that they give you greater power and self-esteem energetically even if they don't say any empowering words.

Also I do meditation. There is a challenge called "60 minutes of meditation for 60 days", which I heard from Naval Ravikant. I'm on 13th day now. I think it's starting to give some positive changes.

Thank you for mentioning Wim Hof method. I never heard about that before. Will consider it in the future.

@PAWnorama, I also wish you to succeed with your weed free journey. It's worth it.

Cheers!
