Sleeping Disorder

Postby DeathBed » Sat Jan 30, 2016 2:15 pm

I read the topic regarding people having a panic attack just as they're falling asleep, but nobody seems to have it as extreme as I'm experiencing.

Just as I'm about to nod off "SLAM" my eyes are open, my body is paralyzed, my breathing has stopped, inside my head is whirling and I feel as if everything inside my body is being forced to the bed. Like extreme centrifical force.

I've never used ecstasy although I did take acid over 25 years ago.

I smoke a lot and drink every day. In fact I have to drink alcohol to go to sleep by blacking out. I'm so afraid to try to rest without drinking.

Anyone have a clue or advice?

Hi,

Alcohol can cause sleep disorder. It helps you to fall asleep on one side and it makes your sleep unhealthy on the other.
Alcohol is known to lift REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement). REM sleep is where we dream, our brain sorts out things, solve problems, organize memory etc.

Drinking has really has effect on quality of sleep and the results are obvious. You must try not to drink after evening. Try taking warm bath, keeping your bed room clean and uncluttered, taking warm milk before going to sleep.

First let me thank you for taking the time out to read and respond to my post. After having a major back spasm, up all night trying to move but couldn't due to severe pain. Unimaginable pain.

After spending two hours trying to get out of bed this morning, with the help of my wife, we finally went to see a doctor. In addition to resolving my back issue, I was found to have serious high blood pressure, he said it was almost fatal.

So yeah the party is over for a while, I'm taking prescription drugs to help with my back and my blood. It suck because I used to be a body builder and nutritionist, over the last few years I just stopped caring.

I'll be taking something to help me rest and will get back to eating healthier and doing exercise. I'll take it slow and do better to protect my temple. I owe it to my wife and my family not to be so selfish.

Appreciate the feedback gull2516

I can certainly empathize with your dilemma. It can be very frustrating to not understand why you can't seem to find peace at night. On top of this, you may feel stuck with the need to drink down a substance that you know is harming you, but it seems like the only way to get some rest.

I'd like to help if you're interested. My name is Harold. I am a professional Hypnotherapist and Dream Coach. I donate my services pro bono to a number of people throughout the year.
