Potential causes:

-1- Head injury
-2- Psychological trauma and/or psychosomatic
-3- Cognitive decline, usually age related
-4- Chemical imbalance (prescriptions or other substances)

Based on the video I’m going to guess -2-, some sort of stress induced trauma. If this was the case, you would have seen a rather sudden change. He would have been functioning fine and then he begins to act as in the video.

If the change was not sudden, if the change was gradual, then you are probably looking at something similar to the psychological/neurological development of cases like schizophrenia or paranoia.

Hope this helps.

I have been through the YouTube Video given by you. It seems your dad is going through a dementia, as well as a depression. Well, is there something that he is hiding inside? Depression happens when a person suffers from some emotional baggage, and are unable to share with the loved ones in a fear of loosing them. My granny was dealing with the similar disorder, she was then diagnosed with dementia, a Memory loss disease. I was not able to care for her because of my graduation grades, so my dad decided to call an elder care lawyers are available for taking care of elderly parents at home NJ.

Thank you so much for your reply. He had been tested for dementia but results of the test fine. So he continued conventional pills. There is no chance so far. I also think that he is hiding something but he is refusing every time we ask. This week we tried phenibut but it did not work also. I really don't know what we will do.
Thank you. Sincerely

Sorry to hear that it continues.

You know how if you ask a child to tell a secret that many times they will refuse? But, if you act like the secret is not important, it loses its value. Therefore the child is no longer so willing to hold the secret.

You know how a child will fall and then look to the parents to see their reaction? If the parents look worried the child cries. If the parents ignore the fall the child continues to play.

Now...I’m not calling your father a child. Not at all. I’m saying that mental issues or cognitive impairment can sometimes result in regression to similar responses. The adult no longer uses critical, rational thinking, but reverts to a childlike way of processing what is going on. If a secret is valued they hold onto it.

Has your family tried focusing on (indirect) managing instead of focusing on (direct) treatment?

What I mean is have you tried ‘stop asking’. No longer push or pursue a cure or treatment. No longer focus on the father, but focus 100% on the family managing to work around the issue. Stop giving the father so much attention and begin designing ways to accept this new version of your father.

It is hard at first because it feels like giving up. But, this is not true. It is a strategy that similar to a child that is only about no longer giving the child attention that reinforces their central importance.

Direct treatment that focuses on the father does not seem to have made much progress in 8 months. Therefore, I do not think there is much to lose by trying an indirect strategy. The indirect strategy helps the family accept and work with the situation. A side effect of shifting focus is that the father, once the spotlight is off of him, might no longer feel the need to hold the secret. If nobody cares or stops asking about what bad thing he feels he has done, like a child, he will no longer feel the need to keep the secret.

Thank you so much Richard for your interest and helping

You are right. We have tried focusing on (indirect) managing but nothing chance. we seemed irrelevant, take him alone for a while, changed locality, visited village that he was born, visited a necromancer (it is weird i know :) ) at that point we had not asked any question about his secrets but he never mentioned about it. after that i really believe that it's chemical problem in his nervous system. but what is it?

i can't accept his new version. he has been suffering for days. i can see the anguish in his eyes. i have been trying different ways every day.

i searched and found something. it is about psychnouroimmune. can the cytokinin cause this problem? have you knowledge about that?

Thank you so much

Sorry, I’m not familiar with chemical imbalances past the very basics.

I take it blood tests show no vitamin deficiencies or presence of abnormal levels of lead or mercury?
