Can obese people be successful? I am obese and having some confidence issues. searched google for success stories of obese people and all I ended up with was how they got a six pack! will be appearing on a job interview soon and I can't get rid of the the possibility of creating a bad impression because of my obesity!

Before people become successful, often they have to work hard to get there which includes weight issues due to lack of having time to take care of themselves, depression, stress etc it's different for most people, but stress often happens when you have to work hard for something that will make you successful. Often the successful people with six packs only had a six pack few years after they became successful because that's when you know you are rich, you success and you can take time to take care of yourself to the max. I wouldn't worry about successful, I would just focus on my health, the fact you go from obese to in shape and healthy will make you a successful person.

but yes of course! being obese is not an excuse for you not to be successful! it's all about on the courage and the guts you are willing to exert, not to mention confidence you must working on.

Unless your success in the profession you want to be in is dependent on your looks then looks just don't matter.

I think people who have been rich for a while look great because they get bored and have grown in many other ways so they have not a lot left to improve upon (or so they think) so they try to build a better body.

If they offer medical benefits they look at you and see "high medical costs."

I am obese as well and what I have noticed is that just doing small things like just walking for a bit can help but also focusing on other aspects that need improving on in your life can help as well. Losing weight can be different for everyone and what drives them especially. I have been looking up videos of people on how they lost weight and all of them have said that they were all heavily inspired by something to lose weight.

At 67.3" I dropped from 170 to 150.

You can lose 2 lbs per 24 hours by going on only liquids but I couldn't do this for more than four days straight.

You may lose 2 lbs overnight and regain it during the day.

0.5 to 2 lbs/week is a reasonable rate of loss.

Drink 8 cups/day of water and eat at least 30 grams of fiber.

Don't look at food, either on TV or elsewhere.

After eating, rinse your mouth with water.

Growing up emotionally neglected is like nearly dying of thirst just outside the fenced off fountain of a parent’s kindness and interest. Emotional neglect makes children feel worthless, unlovable and excruciatingly empty, with a hunger that gnaws deeply at the center of their being, leaving them starving for human warmth and comfort - a hunger that often morphs over time into an insatiable appetite for substances and/or addictive processes. I find it noteworthy that denial processes about early abandonment often morph later in life to the minimizing operations that some survivors use to rationalize their substance and process addictions.

While addictions are often understandable, misplaced attempts to regulate painful emotional flashbacks, they become increasingly self-destructive when an individual is old enough to learn a healthier flashback management regimen. Accordingly, excessive eating, spending, drinking, drugging, sexing, working or dissociating, are not only desperate attempts to distract from inner pain, but also counterproductive efforts to attain an ersatz form of human comfort and soothing.
