Outbursts of anger in young people?

Postby conundrum » Thu Sep 23, 2004 7:43 pm

A young person I know is lovelly at home and very approachable. The past three days his parents have been called into school because he has spilt tipex and threatened a tutor with a stone and had her cowering in a corner. He was very approachable about this and was willing to discuss it with his parents although denied it. He has before lashed out at property because he was not given attention by his parents. Is this normal child behaviour? It does not seem that way. Any ideas?

It's not unusual for young people to 'lash out' if their Basic Needs are not being met. They often have little idea how to get these needs met, and their frustration may seek an outlet - any outlet.

If the young person realizes that he gets easily angry and out of control, it could be sign of a hypoglycemic syndrome.
