Nerve twitching/tingling

Postby Fruitytooty8 » Wed Sep 15, 2021 8:30 am

Hi guys,

Had anyone experienced any finger twitching/ internal tremors during your recovery process, or are experiencing them now? Last night my ring finger started having what I would describe as an “internal tremor” not visibly twitching, but inside. It’s constantly pulsating and I feel like it might be nerves, but would this be paws related?

I’ve had a lot of physical symptoms calm down, it has been 2 months for me so maybe I am out of a wave for now. I am just worried because I have this twitching.

Thank you for any responses.

All I can advise is that not everything you experience when you stop smoking weed is because you stopped smoking weed.

Yes Fruitytooty I have had exactly what you described. The internal tremors (almost like electricity running through my body) and twitches are still happening to me at 11 months in. They are better a lot of the time, but I do have anxiety and have started drinking more caffeine lately and both of those definitely make the twitching and internal tremors a lot worse. You posted this almost 3 months ago- how are you doing now?

It’s a symptom of low dopamine. Just takes more time. Absolutely quit all caffeine.

Thank you for your post and for the information, biohack. I can’t stop caffeine cold turkey, but my goal is to stop by January 1st for the new year. Dang it’s so hard to stop when it helps you get so much done- my work is so busy this time of year and I fell into the trap of drinking more caffeine to help me be more productive. I know it’s just an excuse, though, and I will taper off. I just hit two years sober from alcohol on December 12th and have managed 11 months of weed PAWS, but I haven’t managed to kick the caffeine habit yet- but I will. Thanks so much!

The alcohol and weed is a tremendous accomplishment so much respect and congrats to you for that! They are both far worse than caffeine. However, I have to say that caffeine and productivity is a myth. If you take in consideration the negative effects it has on quality and quantity of sleep as well as other aspects of well-being you will find once you get through withdrawals and your sleep quality improves, you will be far more productive. There is a video on it by some multi millionaire on YouTube, can’t remember his name right now. But it sounds like you have a good plan of attack by tapering down. I wish you all the success and an incredible start to the new year with a new you!

That's a good goal.

Earlier this year I listened to the audiobook, Caffeine by Michael Pollan. It's only 2 hours long and offers some insight into why caffeine is so addictive. It might help you kick the habit, and if not, it still is a fascinating story.
