I have always been curious about hypnosis and how closely related this is compared to daily meditation or affirmations.

Hi! I'm Helen Joy from the south coast of the UK. I previously studied counselling but really felt hypnotherapy would be more my thing.
I'm studying hypnotherapy and will hopefully be able to work from home as I'm a wheelchair user.
I'm hoping to build my knowledge whilst here and maybe even find some willing victims to practice on!

Hi. My username is Seeker3812.

I am practicing self hypnosis for personal improvement and more specifically goal achievement/Law of Attraction Manifestation via the power of the subconscious mind.. I took a self hypnosis course under a Master Hypnotist some time ago who took a few weeks conditioning me to go deeper and deeper before implanting the suggestion/method for me to go into my own self hypnosis. He is no longer available for me to contact to troubleshoot my use of self hypnosis.

Right now i am using specific positive specific goal oriented present tense affirmations as my suggestions. I would like to know the opinion of others here regarding the two following methods of putting in the suggestions. Which way will most likely impact the subconscious mind strongest: for best results and WHY?

a) Method #1: I go into self hypnosis and simply say the suggestions (eyes closed) aloud as audible self talk.

b) Method #2: I have the suggestions already typed. I go into my self hypnosis and tell myself on the count of three I open my eyes remaining in hypnosis continuously going deeper and deeper, I read aloud some suggestions, and a accept and act upon each of the suggestions I read aloud, 1...2...3... Then I open my eyes, read the typed suggestions aloud, and then come out of my self hypnosis.

Of the two above methods is one method better than the other, if so which one is better, and more importantly WHY. I await replies.

Thanks,
seeker3812

Hi. My name is David.
I am from Ukraine and I am new to hypnosis. I just want to learn and help people who didn't figure out things I already did. I don't really want to be a hypnotherapist. It is kind of a hobby for me.

I'm intrigued about hypnotism and how they are done. They always amaze me by the way they can "control" someone's mind but like that. Recently I've been doing some research on how hypnotism is done and what are the techniques for it. I tried it on my friend who is willing to let me hypnotize him. The process was quite successful and it was an amazing experience! :D

Hi,

I'm new, I've been trying to get the hang of hypnosis.
But it keeps eluding me.
Tried the handshake and confusion techniques, with consent, yet I fail each time.

Can I please get some tips?

Kind Regards

Hi Everyone,

I've been interested in hypnosis for a long time and now want to practise. I've made a youtube channel where I plan on posting videos I've made as part of my practise. Constructive feed back is appreciated. Thanks

Hi everyone, I've just joined this forum after lurking for a while. My name's Kevin (user name HypCat) and I'm new to hypnosis. I'm from UK though I live in Germany.

In the past I never had much interest in hypnosis, I just thought of it as maybe some kind of eye vision trick or something.

My previous exposure was just doing occasional affirmation meditations. I then came across Joe Karbo's book "The Lazy Man's Way To Get Rich" which featured some "super suggestion" hypnosis style routines which made me realize hypnosis is about programming the subconscious.

Then a few years back I came across Derren Brown's shows. Here in Germany I'd never heard of him, so this was new to me. I found his techniques very interesting, although his material is mainly mentalist/magician entertainment, it whetted my appetite to find out more about hypnosis and applied psychology.

I also came across Adam Eason's excellent podcasts and presentations, this has led me to discover people and techniques I'd never heard of before, eg people like Jon Chase, Anthony Jacquin, Kev Sheldrake and others.

I've been practising some self-hypnosis for business and personal development issues. This forum seems like a valuable resource of practical info and help for this. I want to learn more about hypnosis and also learn how to hypnotize other people as well.

Hi,
I'm Stephan, 41 years old, from Belgium.
I love hypnosis for fun but I'm not interested in doing therapy... yet.
I went to a stage hypnosis class and a street hypnosis class and I've red a lot of books.
I practice in the streets once or twice a week and it's a lot of fun.
I'm here to learn even more.
Thank you for reading.

Hello Anthony, my name's Elliott.

It's nice to meet you!

I'm sorry if I shouldn't post on this old thread it's just that it's the only place I could find for new members of the forum to introduce themselves.

I'm a hypnotherapist in Liverpool and I qualified around 2005. So I have 11 years experience in hypnotherapy and hypnoanalysis at the time of writing this.

I want to improve the services I offer my clients and also here some of other professionals' stories and how they improve their skills.

Again apologies in advance if I've made a blunder here!

Welcome, Elliott! This is exactly the right place to introduce yourself, it's just that apparently people tend to forget to respond to these introductions.

I hope you'll be finding this a good place to trade ideas and experience. Personally I'm not extremely active here but I do keep coming back... there's just something about this place. :)
