Tell me, do you read and interpret the bible literally?

I have seemed to have gotten people to talk about there belief. I believe that is good as long as we don't judge or make fun of others belief.
Yes, I do interpret the bible literally. However, I also believe that there is some places that are not literal. I try to show my girlfriend Philipians 4:5-8, but it is up to her on if she would have enough faith or not. I hope if there is scripture that would help that you would give it to me. I am guessing that is what you were going to do. If you are afraid that I was going to completly disagree with you do not think that way. Also if you have advice that is not in scripture I believe anything that is good comes from God, so do not be afraid to tell me what you think. I hope I did not scare anyone or have people not answer me because I said I was a christian. If you want to know more, I am a preachers son. How nice if you have guestions about the bible and your dad is a minister. You do not have to go far at all to get answers to biblical guestions. Well, sorry for the excesive writing.
