How to change negative thinking in positive thinking?

Hi,

I am suffer from depression. My thinking have negative. I want to change it in positive thinking.

I need Remedies for Positive Thinking. Anyone help me.

Instead of 'forcing' positive thoughts, why not just not take the 'negative' thoughts so seriously? Just let each thought pass without "thinking about it." It's just a thought. Meditation is a tool for seeing that thoughts come and go, and you don't have to do anything with each thought. Eventually, your mind will be clearer, and you'll get a sense of your innate well-being.

Try some body-oriented psychotherapy. Your thoughts will change all by themselves.

Start your day off with gratitude. We have so much to be grateful for. Get an empty notebook and get in the practice of waking up each morning and writing down at least 7 things that you are grateful for and try this for the next 30 days. You will start to feel better.

This helps for me: being careful about your choice of words when you type them on the internet. They can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. So... try using more positive words and/or statements. I say when you type them on the internet because often i find you can think more before typing than before speaking. And what you type on the internet will spill into how you speak and think after time. Of course only type it if you believe it!

Instead of thinking of negative possibilities, think of all the good outcomes. For example, instead of thinking about the chance of failing an exam, think about getting a really good result!

Hey Amy,

if it isn't too late, I would suggest books:

- How to Win Friends and Influence People
- You Can't Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought
- Some biographies from your idols
- The Power of Positive Thinking
- Think and Grow Rich

and I would suggest that you look into Stoicism. Stoicism is based on an optimistic way of looking at the life.

Start with The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday. If you'll like this book, continue with Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and then continue with a book Letters from a Stoic by Seneca.
