My parents have gone away to my aunts for the weekend they have left my 23 year old sister in charge, i am supposed to be grounded for bad behavoiur , i am not allowed to leave the house but i am allowed tv, pc phone etc, my sister overheard my in my room talking on my phone about sneaking out and going to a party, my sister burst into my room, we had a row and i swore at her she then took the key from inside my bedroom door and locked me in, she said i would remain locked up until my parents returned tomorrow night, i rang my parents on my phone and told them my sister had locked me in , they said they fully support my sister and as i was planning to sneak out i deserved to be locked up, i have been locked in my room for over 3 hours now and my sister wont let me out is this right ?

Sounds like it is. Your parents don't trust your decision-making but have trusted your sister to keep you safe until they come back. Having heard that you planned to sneak out to a party, your sister took the decision to make sure you couldn't. Your parents then approved her decision.

At 23 your sister is an adult. Without knowing your age, I understand that your parents are worried about you, perhaps about the friends you have or about the choices you've made.

Don't get me wrong. If I'd been left as a teenager with my older sister in charge I daresay I too would have felt the urge to defy her. But she was never put in charge of me, even when our parents went overseas for a month. Why? Because despite my wilder moments my parents never had cause to think I couldn't manage my own life.

Your situation is different. I imagine it's tough on you to be locked in. What I'd like to know is where in the world it's presently "the weekend". Will you enlighten me?

sorry I didn't write my question properly, its was the weekend gone it is currently Wednesday where I live.
I have a new problem because I was planning to sneak out my parents have said I will be punished this coming weekend, when I return from school Friday evening I will lose my phone tv pc etc, I will then be confined to my room ( LOCKED IN ) my parents have said I need to earn back their trust and for this grounding punishment I will remain locked in my room for the duration of my punishment, they say they hope this will be the only time they will have to punish me this way, I will also be set work to do a 5 page essay on the importance of trust and obeying parents rules, plus a 5 page essay on unacceptable behaviour and punishment, mt parents say they want me to think about why I am being punished so I don't repeat this mistakes again, I WIIL HATE this punishment so much DO YOU I DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED AND DO YOU THINK MY PRENTS ARE RIGHT ?

And I wasted my time with this troll 18 months ago. Ugh.

Oh, well. At least I'm not locked in my room; does that room have an adjoining bathroom? How more first world can a "child" get.

At least the number of pages required has come down. And with a bit of luck she still has the six-page crime and punishment essay from 18 months ago. Progress for poor beleagured bigbecky!
