Postby Angepange89 » Mon May 28, 2012 9:01 pm

I seem to have a problem eating! I just can't stop, it's like I always need something in my mouth, even when I'm not hungry!

I got upto nearly 18st and managed to lose 3st 18 months ago, only to pile on 2st again!

Its really affecting my life and my esteem! I know I can lose weight and dot really enjoy food that much! I was so much happier when I lost tr weight but my relationship with food is getting me down! =(

Some people are over weight and happy.

And then there are people like yourself who are not -

You have a difficult relationship with food, it likely compensates for an a struggle that you faced in your life. Contrary to popular belief- being unable to diet is rarely due to a lack of will power. You need to sever the present relationship you have with food, and begin a new one. The only way to do this is to face up to the "real reason" why you over eat.

Just as the anorexic must face the "real reason" why they do not eat. No easy task ..but as soon as you can understand & apportion the blame where it truly lies.

The sooner you will begin the road to recovery.

Well it sounds like your eating is satisfying an emotional need, which is very common. As a hypnotherapist I have seen some great results with clients that come to me looking for help with changing their eating habits and getting results is nearly always to do with firstly understanding what emotional need their eating is serving. It is also very common for people to sabotage or punish themselves using food, relating to lack of self worth or self esteem. There are some great techniques using NLP and Hypnosis that changes these old behavioural patterns and outdated beliefs, along with establishing how to get the emotional needs met in a healthier way.
