Hi I'd like to begin by saying I'm no expert in any specific field nor will I claim I have superior knowledge. I do not wish to be identified as a some sort of dilettante. I am a 19 year old college student who is obsessed with self development and success. In the past 2 years, I have learned MUCH more than I have ever expected I would.
It seems to me that when the word "investment" or "investing" comes to mind, people tend to believe its something strictly to do with finances. Nope. Investing in ourselves means learning to love ourselves. Of course financial investment is one form of investing into yourself. But there's a more direct way.
Think of everything as simply energy. I am "investing" my energy into this post right now because I believe I have the capacity and ability to help others and at the same time summarizing altogether what I've learned. I believe in this sort of win-win circumstance.
I am investing my attention and focus. Ask yourself this. What are you focused on right now? For most, it's pop culture. Television, movies, video games, etc. Now ask yourself this... do any of these things HELP you in any area of life in particular? If the answer is Yes, keep doing those things. However, for the things you answer no to, I want you to cut those out of your life IMMEDIATELY.
Yes, THAT itself is investing into yourself. Investing in your brain because by clearing up unnecessary attention on irrelevant things that do not contribute to the designing of your life, you free your mind up for space to store USEFUL information. Useful information that actually HELP you ascend in ways physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally! I want you to re-read this paragraph because this is the key. This is the key to unlocking your potential to the fullest.
I would like to hear what everyones opinion is on this, then I will create another post so that I can gauge the level of interaction and interest in this topic. Thank you.
