You might find EMDR/IEMT techniques useful for desensitization and supportive reprocessing of social anxiety as well.
The IEMT revivification process I learned:
!. Do you have a state of mind, an emotional thing, that's a problem?
2. On a score out of 10, ten being really strong, how strong is this feeling?
3. How familiar is this feeling?
4. And when is the 1st time you can remember feeling this feeling? It may not be the 1st time it ever happened, but it is the first time that you can remember now.
5. How vivid is this feeling? (Question 4. can be asked again to intensify the response.)
There's also:
1. Ask about the event you want to elicit.
2. Ask detailed questions -- who, what, when, where, how -- engaging as many sensory inputs as is possible.
3. Ask forward leading questions; connect "And then what happened?" to what happens next, and then the next that happens after that.
4. Connect and shift past tense to present time using present tense.
5. Connect and shift what's felt from an external experience to one that's experienced internally -- "And as you're sitting in that chair, now noticing are you feeling deeply relaxed...or is this simply a sensation, maybe one of comfort and ease." (That example will have to be edited for your purpose.)
