Do I have an eating disorder?

Postby abcdefg729 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 11:52 pm

If I do not eat enough and I feel guilty for eating, but I do not have a fear of gaining weight, and I actually know I am too skinny, but I don't eat because I don't feel like I'm worth living, then is it still considered an eating disorder?

I think you may have an eating disorder ;
I know I'm too skinny but I keep eating less than I should. It's like a constant fight to me and I enjoy winning it everyday. I'm happy when I lose weight , even if I know that I should be heavier. If you don't eat because you think that you don't wanna live anymore it's actually a problem, you should see a doctor. And remember, that everyone's special, everyone's important and that everyone deserves to live!!

Yes, that's an eating disorder, abcdefg729. It has a major causative factor (low self-esteem) that's probably at the back of most anorexics' and bulimics' body battles.

Of course you deserve to live. Otherwise, why you were born. Yes, that might be an eating disorder precipitated by low self esteem or it can be a psychological issue by itself presenting or potentiating an eating disorder.

A pshychologist may be of help here. Do not loose yourseld because you feel you are not worth living.. I am sure you are and I am sure if you get help from a professional you will know you are born to live.

You can take a questionnaire to see if you have an eating disorder: centerforchange dot com/friends-family-you

Look around their site, too. They have good info!

You can check with a dietician...but you will have to spend money for their "guessing" opinion, which is most commonly not correct....but here is a way that you can save yourself some money.....go to the store called "Vitamin Shoppe" and just talk to one of their people...they have a computer where they can type a description of what you are experiencing and the computer will show some of the non-prescription medicines that can help you.

I have been suffering from "bloating: for eating anything. I started taking "Ultimate Flora probiotics" I have been taking it for 7 days and starting to feel better....but I wanted to start feeling much better faster...I went back to Vitamin Shoppe and went through their assorted medicines for digestive disorders and found "Digest Extra" you take 1 capsule before a meal or after a meal and you will not get bloated.

I tried it this afternoon before eating lunch and it worked....no bloating!!!

Check out a Vitamin Shoppe store in your area.

probiotics are needed by people who had at sometime in their life has
been given too much antibiotics for some sicknesses. The antibiotics
killed upt to 90% of the digestive bacteria in your stomach. Because there
is a lack of the digestive bacteria...indigestion, bloating, gas and other discomfort
are felt by people who have received antibiotics in the past. Probiotics can
help many people....add to it "digest extra" and it will strengthen the digestive
system and minimize the disconfort most of us are feeling.

I hope this reply, helps some of you....I know how many of you feel with, bloating,
gas and other stomach discomfort...or eating disorder.

I think it is eating dis order by because even though you are skinny you are not taking food what you need exactly. It is better to try different items because you may love it so that interest may increase.

yeah, that sounds like an eating disorder for sure...

I've lost around 140 pounds now (in a healthy way, and needed to lose the weight. weighed 320 pounds 8 years ago) and suffer from the same lack in self-esteem. I believe that I was damaged during my childhood which comprised continuous torture from the 'regular' sized kids. All of this has made me feel just like you....life isn't worth living.

Although I still feel this way (especially right now for reasons that doesn't apply to this topic), I won't let myself give up. My stories of living as an "underdog" (was crippled for awhile, had gangrene in lower abdomen....my life has had it's bumps in the road) often times lends people hope to keep fighting, and then I feel like my life is no longer a waste.

Visit a doctor, dietician, heck you could even visit your local college campus and have all of this assessed at the wellness center (most campuses have them). Determine your healthy weight and seek psychological counseling....then tell your tale of survival to help those that are struggling with the same feelings we are.
