Hi,
not sure what you are referring to by 'someone said they can move things with a thought' ... I agree it is not possible to move objects with a thought but certainly it is true that people can move physically without conscious thought.
Everyday examples include blinking, twitching, and all reflex actions - someone thorws something at you and your arm comes up to defend you.
This natural ability to move without conscious thought can be utilised in hypnosis as a way of communicating with someone without conscious interference.
With regard to dreaming, yes it is possible to suggest someone will dream something that will be of benefit to them therapeutically, however this does not mean that you can suggest exactly what they will dream - I'm reading the BFG to my son at the moment and just dont have big enough ears - and there is no need to, the suggestion that their thoughts will return to something they can learn from or that indicates the source of the problem is often enough to make progress.
I havent read anything on this group regarding hypnosis that I consider stretching the truth or even approaching the limits of this fantastic tool.
If you want to know how I can recommend some reading if you like.
What is your interest exactly?
All the best
