Anchoring a medically induced mental state.

Postby MrNoddlecoda » Tue Jan 02, 2018 7:36 pm

Good Morning All,
I come with a curious disposition as to whether anyone here knows of a technique to anchor mental states similar to mania induced by stimulants such as caffeine and then later re-trigger those states in the absence of the stimulant.

Specifically I'm curious if such a protocol has been used to treat disorders such as ADD.

Thank you for your time, with kind regards.

Yes and no. It is a placebo effect.

There have been any number of studies conducted using various substances, e.g. alcohol and/or water to make participants believe they were intoxicated.

Thank you for your reply Richard,
but isn't all Hypnotherapy just a matter of the placebo effect and ones susceptibility to suggestion?

To clarify I do not mean to replace a real stimulant with a placebo stimulant, but a stimulant with a mental anchor that can be re-activated at will by way of some physical, verbal, or mental mechanism.

Thank you,
