Toilet anxiety / phobia

Postby Rs1987 » Tue Apr 02, 2019 10:29 pm

I suffer with toilet anxiety, where everywhere I go I constantly worry about needed the loo, and not being able to find somewhere to go, it’s a problem I have suffered with for 10 years +. And it has pretty much controlled my life. Just wondering if anybody else suffers with this? Would be delighted to hear from you

Many phobias are treated with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I recommend you seek out a therapist in your area.

The basic concept is controlled exposure to the fear, followed by reflection on how what you feared did not occur. The exposure is repeated until you gain comfort with that one aspect. Step by step, week by week, the phobia is addressed as the therapist scaffolds the therapy.

Hi I have toilet anx for 2 reasons embarrassment and germs u havn't said wat ur anx is about but maybe explaining mine might help. The germs I'm lucky I'm a guy I can open the door lift the seat and flush all with my shoe with a little acrobatics lol. As for the embarrassment at having to ask for a toilet all I can do is not drink much fluid and make myself to go before I go out if I need to or not. None r fixes just coping mechanisms, maybe that helps u in a small way? I don't know wat ur anx is about

wait until you have sleep anxiety.
I thought I was having a heart attack
had to go to er next day

the worst feeling when its 3am and you are tired as hell but scared to go to bed...
its like a horror scene from a scifi movie.

your body learns a schedule if you follow it.
say you start pooping in the morning. after few days your body will adjust its schedule to poop in the morning.

also when you are in bootcamp you go when you are told to. so sometimes I had to hold it for 2 hours while marching or training.

try holding it as long as you can when you have a bathroom available that you can use any time..
it really is about your mind.
my kid pee in bed every day for about 2 years.
I told him if he doesn't pee In bed for 2 months I will buy him a tablet for Christmas that he wanted...
he stopped peeing in bed right next day and only peed once in the 2 months because he drank too much water one evening...
