Clinical
Behavioral
Cognitive
Organizational
Neuro
Social
Industrial
Educational
Forensic

I’m sure there are others.

What do you want to accomplish by studying psychology? The answer will help you decide what direction to take.

It’s more of finding one that suits my learning style...which I think is more logical than social.

Can someone please tell me about each form of psychology?

-1- Learning styles turned out to be myth. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences had a good run, but the science never supported his claims.

-2- No one in this forum can tell you about each form of psychology with any validity. They will rely on Google, same as you.

But it will take weeks to compile 5 websites on each form of psychology on order to get a rough understanding!

Thanks for the laugh.

Supposing that this statement is even close to being true, are you saying you want us to do your homework for you?

I doubt you'll make it to degree status, much less doctoral. Have you considered a job in retail?

No problem. It took my expertise in psychology to Google, "types of psychology" and click on the very first link that popped up. It's really fortunate that you found me. But for my extensive qualifications in the field of psychology, no other person would think to use a search engine in such a sophisticated way. Lucky you.

Best of luck in your learning endeavors.

Thanks it looks like I’m going to need it...

I don’t need the sh*ty comments I just find it stupid to have to look at 5-10 websites on each subject of psychology just to find a form of psychology to study out of interest from home and didn’t want to buy books on the subjects I’m not interested in, that suits my brain type and interests.

Understand now?

Something you could have explained by now and I could have asked you questions about.

So instead, your “smart” rather than “stupid” alternative to the above was to just visit one website, believing that strangers in an anonymous forum would use the expertise that you assume they have to create a summary for you. That doesn’t strike you as a stupid way to acquire knowledge?

I guess not. For some types of knowledge, especially preliminary collection of data, crowd sourcing can be very effective. It is not a bad idea to go into a forum on Seattle and ask, “Where is a good place to live in Seattle?”

That is pretty efficient. You might get multiple answers from individuals that can provide you their personal insights into various areas of Seattle. That would be a smart way to find out where you might want to live in Seattle.

But, if you were to go into the forum and say, “Could someone give me a list of all the neighborhoods in Seattle and explain each of them for me,” that would be a rather ignorant approach. A person could be an expert in Seattle, having lived in Seattle for decades and their opinion on each neighborhood would be of little use outside of the areas they had actually lived.

As an educational psychologist I’m always fascinated by how people learn and the ways they believe “smart” or “stupid” in acquiring knowledge. That you believe outsourcing labor or crowd sourcing knowledge is efficient, I understand. That you believe it efficient in this situation, I think you might want to reconsider.

It took me four minutes (using Firefox as my browser) to highlight/right click on each of the terms listed by Richard, click on "Search Google for "nnnnn"", add (a copy/paste) "psychology" to each of those search terms and hit enter.

At the the top in most cases, and near the top otherwise, one can glean what each topic is about.

Amazing, this internet stuff.
