Too much therapy is bad for us

Here's a challenging article about Therapy Culture for all us therapists to consider. The conference looks interesting too!

I would be interested in reading some of your reactions to this article! Did you think it was on the mark? Over the top? Plain wrong?

I tried reading it, but frankly got bored with the intellectual rant. Whether we have too much therapy because society is fragmented, or the other way round is irrelevant in my opinion; the fact is that more people need help, and a large part of this is due to social isolation.

Do I wish less people needed therapy? Yes.

Do I wish that more therapists understood how to do good brief therapy that leaves people feeling 'normal'? Yes.

Do I think that people going on about it like this guy helps the situation helps? No, not really.

Feeling a bit grumpy today.
