I was wondering why dissociation is so powerful?
I have had the experience where I used to critized myself hardly and frequently. I used a dissociation (I created 2 persons - the happy me and the critic) and everytime the critic appears, I tell him he's not welcomed and to go away.
This technique helped me to get rid of what was a deep and immersive bad experience to a really confortable and fast way of dealing with it when it emerges.
I heard another case where dr. Erickson dissociated a fear of flying from a pacient and put the fear on a green chair.
I have my own thoughts on this, but I'd like to hear from other points of view.
